Seriously I've only been on adderall for a couple months and we've raised it a couple times but honestly I take 60mg Xr twice a day and it just doesn't work. I have a history of opiate and downer addiction but I never recreationally used stimulants. I felt soooo much better when I first started taking it but it's like it has worn off already. I've inly been on 120 daily for not even 2 weeks. This is crazy. I don't know what to do next. It's changed my life but if the effects have worn off what do I do?? From what I understand 120mg a day is A LOT. I tried vyvanse and it sucked. What else can I do??? Please someone give me some experience or guidance

Hello, Sk! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're experiencing.

What effects are you expecting this medication to have?

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, irritability and weight loss.

However, it is normal for side effects to taper off and eventually go away entirely, as your body gets used to a medication. It is similar to why some get addicted to drugs, the effects they like to feel from them go away, with time, and they have to keep taking more and more to feel those effects, again. It doesn't mean the medication isn't working, you just are no longer experiencing such side effects.
