A similar question was asked, before. However, I am unable to find any contraindications listing that it shouldn't be used with any eye condition.
The only thing I can guess on that is that since it is a stimulant, it can raise blood pressure and have other stimulating effects on the body. In the case of someone with glaucoma, the pressure balance in the eye is off and this may make it worse.
It cannot be taken with MAOIs or within a few weeks of using them, because it can increase the plasma concentrations of those drugs, which could lead to toxic levels of them in the body.
As to the name, it is exactly what you posted, the trade name is Ritalin and the generic name is Methylphenidate.
