Tramadol is an opiate analgesic that's most commonly used to treat pain, so there's really no reason it must be taken at any specific time of day, unless your doctor has given some reason for it. There shouldn't be any problem taking it at night.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
