0.3 Mg

Alright so I've been on clonidine for a while now (it's been 0.3 milligrams from the beginning) as well as 600 mg of seroquel. Both were used for mood stabilization as well as (mainly) for sleep. The other night I was travelling out of town and forgot my clonidine, so I just took my two seroquel. I felt just as drowsy as normal, still got about 8 hours of sleep, but didn't wake up feeling groggy or tired (whereas I normally do).

I can't get an appt. in with my psychiatrist for another 4 months, and they don't do over-the-phone appointments. I'm seriously considering dropping the clonidine completely, but I need to know if there are any serious side effects.

I am young, I've had no history of heart problems or high blood pressure, nothing out of the ordinary; not allergic to anything, and I've never had any issue with medication in the past.

I've read that stopping clonidine temporarily increases blood pressure (which makes sense), but those reports were by people who had been on at least 7-10 mg for 6 months. Remember I'm only at 0.3.

Any insight?

Thanks!

Really, it would be safest to wait until you can talk to your doctor about it. The reason I say this is that the rebound effects aren't always just dose related, they can also be related to how long you've been taking it, even if it is a very low dose.

These rebound effects may not just include blood pressure increases, they could also include elevated heart rate, palpitations and etc.

Do you have a primary care doctor that you can consult?
