Doctor in Pittsburgh PA who will prescribe Modafinil
I am trying to find a doctor in Pittsburgh PA who will prescribe modafinil to treat shift work sleep disorder. I've struggled with this for years (though I actually had a couple of good years when I could get adrafinil - which is metabolized into modafinil - which really helped, but that was discontinued long ago), but as the demands of my work and new responsibilities have arisen, the last few months have been worse than it's ever been. My primary care doctor flatly refuses to prescribe it - he says that, while he agrees I'm probably right in my self-diagnosis, he doesn't know enough about shift work sleep disorder to diagnose it, and he doesn't know enough about the use of modafinil to treat shift work sleep disorder to be comfortable prescribing it. He wants me to...

How To Avoid Tolerance In Order Not Increase The Dosage Take Of Modafinil
I suffer of apnea during sleep and cronically to face the syntoms of excessive daytime sleeping i must to take modafinil, but this drug unfortumately give tolerance for neuro adaption , there is a way to reduce Tolerance In Order Not Increase The Dosage Of Modafinil?. I believe that the key is in CYP3A4, but i am not a neuroscientist. Some suggestions? THANKS ## I am also not a doctor or neuroscientist. However, from what I know, some doctors help their patients achieve this by having them take time off of taking such medications, or by occasionally switching to a different medication for a period of time. Doing this helps prevent your body from building up a tolerance to it. Learn more Modafanil details here. Have you tried any of the other stimulant medications? If so, did you have an...

Modalert, Modvigil, Waklert, and Artvigil effectiveness?
Has anyone tried these generic Modafinil and Armodafinil meds who can compare them to U.S. prescription brand name or generics? I know 2 of them are made by Sun pharma. I've had Sun pharma generic Adderall which was utter crap and another generic of theirs that seemed weak so no faith in them. The other is produced by HAB pharma which is another Indian company. Nothing against India in general, just their pharmaceutical industry culture is really bad and make cheap drugs often resulting in weak versions. ## Modafinil If I remember correctly when I took this it was for MS fatigue It did nothing for the extreme fatigue it was suppose to help . for me it was just another junk med thrown at me I tried taking it for a month with so much hope huge let down. ## Been a while. Have tried the...

Armodafinil prescription brands in U.S. comparison?
There are often generic brands coming and going on the market. So, I am asking peoples experience with current generics in the U.S.A. for Armodafinil? Compared with each other, with the name brand, or the online generics since they are available to any one Due to insurance company I have to use goodrx.com to get my discount. But don't know if the lower prices at pharmacies they list apply to bad generics that don't work well or not so trying to see how much I need to spend to get a good brand. My prescription right now goes for $66 to $711 depending on the pharmacy. Figure this info will be beneficial to to others as well. And haven't found a thread yet with a good number of comparisons. Reasons I mention U.S in particular is because we don't know if products in other co...

Does Nuvigil Help to Reduce Chronic Pain?
Taking Nuvigil 150 mg for 2 days, feeling awesome as compared to before - awake and productive all day. I still yawn like I'm tired all day but stay awake. Also, I cant stop swallowing and drinking water like constantly. Headaches. The main thing is that I'm a chronic pain patient and I don't even want or need my pain meds until it wears off!! Anyone else have a similar experience? ## Yes. I have general chronic muscle pain. Nuvigil reduces that pain. ## I've been taking opiates for several years, and over the last year I've become more dependent on them and my usage has grown into a daily regimen. Recently, I've found some Nuvigil pills and since starting them, my opiate usage has decreased significantly. I'm not sure what to make of this really. ## Well, I...

Modalert 200mg Tablet Information
I found a white oval pill with no markings other than having a line through the middle. The drug should be generic modafinil from India. Is this correct? ## Hi ted, Unfortunately, when you order medications from overseas without a marking, there's really no easy way to identify it unless you want to pay to have a lab analyze its ingredients. However, if you know which pharmacy you got it from, you can always try contacting your credit card company to dispute a bad transaction. It's possible that they may work with you in getting your money back. Does anyone else happen to recognize this tablet? ## Modalert (modafinil) is used to treat narcolepsy (a disease that causes excessive daytime drowsiness) and shift work sleep disruption (sleepiness during scheduled waking hours and diff...

Generic Modafinil, Provigil (brand) or Nuvigil Experiences
Hey all, 1. Anyone tried varying generics of Modafinil? Which ones, and did they work? Anyone tried brand Provigil (super pricey!) as well and can compare the two? 2. Anyone try Modafinil or Provigil and also tried the considerably cheaper brand Nuvigil (or even generic Nuvigil; please specify which generic). Did they affect you differently? How so, especially in terms of mood, motivation, energy, wakefulness, and task initiation (the latter for ADHD people). How long did it last, and how much longer than Modafinil/Provigil? Please include what doses were optimal! The full story: I have severe ADHD and severe excessive daytime sleepiness since childhood and adolescence, respectively. Perfect physical health otherwise. ADHD meds help many of my ADHD symptoms, but do nothing for my fatigu...

Sunosi with Modafanil
Is it okay to take a 75mg Sunosi in the morning (5-6am) and then take a 200mg Modafanil around 12? ## They are in different medication classes, so there are times a doctor may prescribe them together, if necessary, but you shouldn't combine them, without a physician's approval. Sunosi contains Solriamfetol, it is a dopamine, and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, while Modafanil is an actual stimulant. The typical side effects of taking them may include nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness, mood changes, and anorexia. Have they both been prescribed for you? Are you on any other medications? ## s, both have been prescribed for me. I have never discussed taking them on the same day. I do take other prescribed medications but nothing that is contraindicated to not tak...

Modafinil (Provigil) has helped me
I have been using Modafinil (provigil) for a little over a year now, I work a night shift and it's hard for me to adjust back to the living world on my days off until a buddy told me about modafinil. It has really changed my life, I am no longer a Zombie on my days off and it really keeps me focused on the many projects I work on on my days off. How has your experience been with this medication? ## Hello, Wizarddrm! How are you? I'm glad that this medication is working so well for you. Many people have found it effective at helping with shift work sleep disorder. It carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and insomnia. Can anyone chime in with experiences taking it? ## I just found this message. I'...

Modafinil with alcohol
My specialist wants to prescribe me Modafinil for narcolepsy and I'm doing some research into it and its effects. A lot of stuff online says you can't have alcohol if you've taken it. Wondering if anyone has real-world experience of this? Do you need to be as careful as it makes out? Is that an overcautious warning due to lack of research or is it true and it's bye bye Friday night wine? ## I have a friend who takes Provigil and he didn’t stop drinking socially. I would be careful though, I take adderall and I know that it can sometimes keep me from “feeling” the effects of alcohol even though it definitely is affecting me, so maybe that’s the concern? I would ask your doctor though. ## I lost control faster when drinking on modafinil. ## Here...
