I was recently put on a high dosage (50mg) of Prednisone a day. I was to stay on this dosage for three days, then cut it in half for three days, and then repeat until I was, by the fifteenth day, completely off the medication. Unfortunately, when my doctor prescribed me Prednisone, she momentarily forgot about psych history. On the fifth day of me taking Prednisone, I had a psychosis episode, and came to the realisation that my chaotic moods, and the sudden extreme bouts of depression and lack of concentration, had been a side effect of the medication. After speaking with my doctor, we dropped the dosage right down to 5mg and I was on that for four days before stopping completely, which was five days ago. My doctor just prescribed two drugs for two different conditions, prednisone for severe poison ivy and ciprofloxacn for a urinary infection. After doing a bit of research, it is my understanding that prednisone should not be taken when there is an infection. Should I take them both? (Prednisone dosage: 5mg each tablet; 10 tablets daily for 2 days, reducing to 9/2days; 8/2days; 6/2days; 4/2days; 2/2days; 1/2days. i have prednisone 5052 watons they are ten years old are the pills still good? will they still work? ## No, they have likely lost most of their effectiveness by now and you should just dispose of them. Even when pills are left in the factory sealed container, the longest shelf life is usually only 3 years. I accidentally took two doses of prednisone today..this is my first day taking it and its 50 mg..first time was right bedore 9 am and accidentally at 6 pm i obly have diarrhea and am a bit light on my feet and in head...should i be ok? ## How are you doing? I have been put on Augmentin, Klarithran 500mg for a ten day period and have to take them twice a day. Was also give Prednisone 5mg (starting with 8 tabs per day). I accidently took them twice a day. Hi My daughter is 15 and was prescribed prednisone 20mg for inflammation brought on by an upper respiratory infection. She took the first dose about 1/2 hour after a meal and within 1/2 hour, she was experiencing severe abdominal cramping and nausea. She was able to vomit and it was clear with a few solids but mostly clear. I spoke with the doctor after the pharmacist recommended that it might be too much for her. I was prescribed prednisone 50mg for 5 days on 01/24/2016. I took it for the two first days and the result was insomnia. Spent 48 hours straight awake. Couldn't sleep not even a couple of hours. Third day I didn't take it and called the doctor. They said I should take it the following morning and continue every morning until finish it. I recently half a CT angiogram to map out my arteries for a Prostate Artery Embolisation. Because I am allergic to contrast dye the radioligist prescribed 5o mg of prednisone the night before and 1 hour before the procedure. It was in tablet form. The side effects of the prednisone were awful ....severe stomach pain, nausea, constant gnawing in stomach, headaches and weight gain. Opites make my BP drop 80/50. I am on Fentanyl Patch 25mcg and feel very dizzy & sleepy. Think my BP is dropping dangerously, i have had lots of fluids & hung upside down off the bed. Little Round White Pill With V On One Side And 50 95 on Other ## Can you please double check the imprint? There is a 5093 V and a 5094 V, but nothing for the 5095. Both of the pills I mentioned contain the steroid Prednisone, in 5 and 10mgs respectively.
