I've had chronic pain due to autoimmune diseases for several yrs. I have been seeing a PM doctor in another state but now am in Louisville, Ky staying with a family member who has cancer. I will be here indefinitely and am running into dead ends finding a doctor who is willing to see me and write my Methadone 10 mg that I take 4 x a day. Any suggestions? However, regardless of the new laws, all doctors can still prescribe pain medications, there are just specific restrictions, so your doctor must not feel that you meet the criteria necessary. If you need a narcotic medication on a long-term ongoing basis then due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, getting them to refer you to someone might be the easiest thing to do.

I need to find a doctor here in Louisville that can prescribe me methadone. I just recently got put on my husband's insurance plan which is Blue Cross Blue Shield. I was in a bad car wreck few years back so my back is in major pain on a daily basis! I even have at least 1-2 times a month that my back goes out completely and I can't walk or even move. So I was put on pain pills and not only did they not even really help that much, but they messed my stomach up so bad that I was hospitalized for liver trouble a couple years ago. My daughter has facial pain and a motor cortex brain stimulator which relieves some of her pain. Methadone is the only drug which has allowed her to function, drive, go to school, etc. The liquid form works best because it is a continuous release. Hi we have moved to northern ky area our doctor in Louisville no longer wants to treat us due to the distance he has been our doctor for 15 years we need a good doctor who isn't afraid to prescribe my husband his pain medication he has had 4 shoulder surgeries and can no longer be helped all we can do is manage his pain does ANYONE KNOW A GOOD GP DOCTOR ? ## It most likely isn't that he no longer wants to treat you, but that he can't, if your husband requires strong narcotic pain medications and regular monitoring. I am trying to move my 92 year old father WW II decorated veteran from Louisville, Ky. to Fort Myers I am 62, we both have injuries to our bodies over the years and refuse to allow butchers to cut on us. We work and we move and we help other people till they cut of our ability to find pharmacies to fill our prescriptions in Fort Myers, the DEA only allows small amounts to pharmicies in Florida.
