How Long Does It Take To Quiet Smoking
2 Topics FoundStarted my fourth day today. Took pill 1 of 2 this morning, will dose a second time this evening with my meal. The medicine makes me feel quiet, and somewhat moody but nothing I can't work through. My natural tendency today is to isolate. I don't really feel like being sociable, though I wi be anyway just to try and fight against it (if indeed those symptoms are due to the Chantix). I already notice a considerable difference in taste and smell. The best way to describe it is I now "notice" myself smoking the cigarette. It becomes less desirable, though I do still have cravings as I'm a pack-a-day smoker. I have had a mood swing or two at work, but that could just be that I work in a crazy environment. I will be giving a 45 minute presentation in a couple of days, and I am an EXTREMELY nervous public speaker. My doc gave me five 0.25 mg Xanax to use for this engagement, of course, not to take the 5 tablets in one shot ;) but first to test it out. I used two of the 0.25 pills in the last two months: one for a shorter 8 minute presentation in front of only 6 people ,where it seemed to calm my nerves. The second "test" was within a group giving a short presentation, yet here I noticed all my shortcomings coming forth: shortness of breath, voice gitters, and my body also shook. NOw,what to do about this solo 45 minute engagement I have in the next couple of days: shall I try two of the 0.25mg pills=0.5 dose?
