What can be done about disc degeneration? The spine discs are rubbing together bone to bone and my head falls forward and down. ## Hi Donna, so sorry to hear about what you're dealing with! Would it be possible to share any more details such as any treatments that you may have already had, what any doctors have told you so far, and if you've taken any medications for pain? ## I haven't been to a Dr. yet but what I know is from a chiropractor who has done an X-Ray. What I'm wanting to know is, can the cartilage between the discs be replaced? ## Hi Donna, yes it can... I have had 3 levels fused in my neck and 4 levels fused in my lower back. You will need to see an orthopedic surgeon and he will order an MRI... you can then decide on the treatment. Good luck to you!! ## We...

It is a very strong medication, they gave it to me in the ER the other night and I didn't feel anything afterwards for several hours. It does, however, cause side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, constipation and vomiting. Read more:

My son is 33 years old and just diagnosed with degenerative bone disease and spinal stenosis. He was addicted to pain pills for 7 years and has been clean for 2 years. My greatest fear is him having to take pain med's. Are there any that are not addictive? He had such a hard time coming off and staying off. ## Hello, Molly! How are you? Yes, actually there are. Some of the antiseizure medications, as well as some antidepressants, can treat pain and they aren't addictive, at all. He just needs to see a doctor and be honest about the problems he's had in the past, so they can explore what treatment options would be safest for him. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## What is done for treating or managing the problem of Degenerative Disc Disease?

I have also been wearing an ace bandage around the knee for support. Is the swelling a reaction to reparil? I am also taking Glucosamine.

I have been on Mobic, but the pain does not go away. I had an epidural, but pain still there. It seems the Mobic and the epidural are not sufficient. I will be getting another epidural in two weeks, but it has been a depressing 6 weeks of pain and immobility. Has anyone had this experience --- what else can I do? This has been torture. Any suggestions will be very helpful to me. ## I have two degenerated discs and spinal stenosis. As a result I am having Sciatica pain running down my leg. Hope this explains my previous thread. Thank you. ## Mobic contains the active ingredient Meloxicam, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, used to treat pain and swelling. Have you consulted your doctor? Is Avastin being used for macro degeneration? ## Do you mean wet, macular degeneration (seeing distorted straight lines)? If so, Avastin is a Godsend, stopping the disease in it's tracks. It has saved my vision. Treatments sound scary, but are easily tolerable. No anesthesia needed, etc. As far as I know there are no alternatives to saving your vision if you have wet AMD/ peace ## My mom lost her hearing in her left ear 5 days after her first shot of Avastin in her left eye for wet macular degeneration. Could there be a connection?

I have been taking 7 different meds for this for 10 yrs. Trying to get my Dr. To change the meds. Injections don't work. Can't have surgeries cause insurance won't cover right now. Need advice. Please help me tired of hurting ## Hello, Sharon! How are you doing? I'm sorry that you're in so much pain. However, could you be more specific, such as detailing what medications you've already tried? Have you tried physical therapy? What types of injections have you tried? ## I have been doing research on finding something that will put back the tissues between our bones. Hyaluronic acid is a natural product our bodies make but as we get older it stops. There's a new product of hyaluronic acid in injection form. It helps rebuild the tissue in the knees, so I would th...

What is wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD)? Wet AMD is a very serious form of AMD and is a major cause of vision loss in adults. Wet AMD occurs when: - Blood vessels in the back of the eye grow abnormally - As the blood vessels grow, they leak blood and fluid, which damage the macula - This leakage can cause scarring to the retina, damage to the macula, and loss of central vision Are you or someone you love living with wet AMD? Wet AMD doesn't happen overnight. Symptoms include wavy lines, hazy vision, and blurriness. You should get an eye exam as soon as you notice any of these symptoms. If you think you or someone you love may be showing signs of AMD, see an eye doctor immediately as an early diagnosis is key. Get more information about wet age-related macular degeneration...

Works great for pain however......Has anyone noticed that this pill works excellent to stop allergies? No more sneezing congestion or runny nose. Anyone? Or just me? My doc thinks I'm lying. ## Hello, Lovely! How are you? Rather than actually relieving your allergies, you might just be experiencing the side effect of the opiate drying the mucosa. They are actually very well known to do that and without that extra moisture causing irritation, it would also make sense that your sneezing would stop. The FDA classifies this as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. So, it isn't that it would really be alleviating your allergies, it's just preventing such a se...

Hi, just wondering if anyone uses Fentanly for degenerated disk diease. I can't tolerate the pain pills my doctor prescribed me. I have heard so man warnings about this drug. One doctor told me that tey are only used for people who have cancer, not a drug that is to be taken as needed. My friends husband had them, when he had cancer. The doctor also told him that the 100mg. patches he could only get from the vetrens place(sorry, don't know what it's called) Just that he has had 3 doctors tell him that, for only the 100 mg. patches ## On the regular market, such as what your doctor can prescribe and what you can get from any pharmacy, these patches are only available in two dosages, 25mcgs and 50mcgs. Has anyone else taken MSIR for multilevel degenerative back disease? ## I was recently diagnosed with multilevel digenerative back disease. I was given msir for break thru pain and tolerated it very well. Then the Dr. changed it to avinza 30mg. I have stopped taking this because of the way it makes me fell.
