Good Morning, I was on Cipramil for many years then hit very hard financial times so had no option but to change to Cilift (40mg/day). I cant say I have been particularly emotionally stable but I am going through dreadfully difficult financial issues so I don't know if the Cilift is just battling to work or if it is not working at all. I have now had to resort to going to our provincial hospital for my meds and they don't have Cilift, the only SSRI they have is Nuzak which has now been given to me (40mg/day). The Dr did not say anything about a change over period. So my question is this: do I stop the cilift one day and start the Nuzak the next? Will there be withdrawals from the cilift? I have been having dreadful panic attacks which I take Alzam for. Will the Nuzak stop them? ...

my doctor is going to switch me from subboxne to fentynl patch will i get sick ## Hello, Mike! How are you? Not if your doctor has you do the switch properly. There should be at least 3 days, between the last time you take the Suboxone and switch to the Fentanyl. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What dosing instructions have they provided?

I was on Citalopram and I was feeling very sick whilst taking these, my doc changed me over to cymgen last week Thursday and I am feeling a whole lot better but he did prescribe 20 Azor 0.5 tabs to take in the morning at the same time he prescribed the Cymgen, is it the Cymgen that is making me feel better or the Azor as it was a living hell taking the Citalopram ## Are you sure you're taking Azor? Because it's listed as containing Amlodipine and Olmesartan, both of which are used to treat high blood pressure and heart conditions. Learn more Azor details here. That said, it's difficult to say which is making you feel better, it may be a combination of everything. Learn more Cymgen details here.

I am changing from 125 mcg of Fentanyl with 10 mg oxycodone 4x daily to hydrpmorphone and Lyrica since pain isn't being controlled. What should the new dosings be? I weigh about 170 lbs. ## Hello, Celeste! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. As to the Lyrica, there is no conversion for it, since it is not actually an analgesic like the others. It is actually an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. And if your switching out the Oxycodone for the Hydromorphone for breakthrough pain, you'd need 3.75mgs of Hydromorphone to equal each 10mgs of Oxycodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the p...

has anyone made this change, what dosage of pristiq were u then given, and what was your experience? thanks for sharing. P.S. I have been on effexor xr for 5 years and it has stopped working. t.y. ## Was on 150 also and it worked well for about two years then I didn't really notice that it was helping. Got off of it for a while but had a panic attack so I was prescribed Pristiq. I lost 30 lbs in six weeks which was the ONLY positive. It made me space out and feel more depressed. Not to mention zero libido. I've been on many antidepressants in the past and I'm beginning to think they are just poison. I saw a psychiatrist and he wanted me on prozac, xanax, and seroquel. Good god, I don't think so! I've found these drugs are just a quick fix but in the long run have mor...

I have been taking alprazolam 0.5 in the a.m. for several years made by Mylan. It has bern discontinued by the manufacturer. Costco is now carrying Greenstone. Will I notice a difference in the manufacturer? I suffer from PTSD since my son was killed. I take regular alprazolam 0.5 at bedtime by Dava... seems to be fine. My dr. tells me not to change manufacturer on generics. Is greenstone a reputable company? ## That is a very strange thing your Doctor told you about not changing Generic brands, That is like saying only drink Royal Crown Cola, not Pepsi or Coke. A pharmacy will change brands if their supplier finds a better price. Just yesterday I picked up Mylan 1 mg Xanax at Rite Aid. If your Doctor is truly worried for you and just wants to prescribe the name brand version of Xanax t...

My EP Dr told me to cold Turkey my Metoprolol 50mg bid and start Losartan once daily... is this ok? ## It is always best to follow your doctor's instructions. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Losartan as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and increased urination. Have you made the switch, yet? If so, how are you doing? ## I was given 30 mg of nefedipine and was weaned down from 50 mg to 25mg of metoprolol Cardiologist said she had to wean me down. ## I have been taking 25mg Losartan and 25mg Metroprolol along with Xarelto at bedtime for many years. No side effects.

on simvastatin, would like to try Livalo. Since I have no side effects from simvastatin, would I be allergic to Livalo, or is the formulary the same only that it is obsorbed through the kidney? Would I be more likely to be ok changing to Livalo? ## Hello, Roz! How are you? What you're talking about wouldn't be an allergy, but yes, you could experience side effects from a different one. Why do you want to switch, if your current medication is working for you? What has your doctor suggested?

I am 50 Yrs Old Male & was diagonsed with high BP ( 145-50/100-110) during Mar-14 & was advised Telma-AM Tablets. Since then I have lost 5 Kg weight (Wt in Mar, 90 Kg & Now 85 Kg). My BP reading came down to 120-125/75-80. I have been advised to take Telma 40 since last 15 days. Can I further reduce these dosage & go for low dosage Telms 20 . If my wt get reduced further & BP is in control, can I stop taking these tablets.

I have been on Citalopram for a few years, on 30 mg at most but in the last year have been weaned down to 10mg (could not go any lower or come off completely due to side effects). Recently I have had problems acquiring my monthly pack of 10mg and so found an old pack of 20mg to tide me over until I can get my usual 10mg. Since taking the 20 I have been having dizziness and nausea for almost a week - spells in work where I feel as if I might black out and generally feeling off balance - Is this normal? I don't remember experiencing such effects when I switched from 10 upwards originally, just the first time I ever took them.... Can anyone give any advice? ## Yes, any time you raise the dosage, it is possible to experience side effects, even if you didn't experience them before, b...

Lopressor 25mg I have been on Lopressor 25mg for about 6 months, prescribed by my cardiologist for irregular heart beat and palpitations. I take it right before bed with a glass of water. More nights than not I wake up many time thru the night and lately I have been having trouble falling asleep. My heart beats irregularly when I lay down but if I get up and sit in a chair all is well. I would like to change the time I take the pill from night to morning. Is it safe to skip my nighttime dose and take it the next morning instead? Thanks in advance for your help. ## Hello, Harvey! How are you? I would suggest checking with your doctor, before making a change. It sounds like this medication just isn't lasting you a full 24 hours, so something needs adjusted. Were you originally instruc...

I am taking 30 mg mscontin 3X a day with a lot of break thru pain. How bad would it be if I took (2) 30 mg 2X a day ## my doc prescribed 30mg MS Contin 3X a day. I am having a lot of break thru pain, and I thought I might take (2) 30 mg 2X a day? ## Have you consulted your doctor about this? MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine, which is a narcotic analgesic and a sudden doubling of your dosage could be dangerous. It will increase the risk of side effects, such as nausea, drowsiness, constipation and dizziness. However, the most worrisome is the depression of the central nervous system, which can result in a lowered rate of breathing, slower heart rate and lowered blood pressure. That is actually how most overdose accidents happen, so I wouldn't advise doing so, without...

I have a torn Labium in my hip, chronic arthritis in my right knee, plus back pain. I'm having surgery soon for my hip (thank goodness). I've been on oxy for 3 years 10/325 and it's not helping any more. Not sure what to do. ## Hello, Rose! How are you doing? I'm sorry that you're in pain. The best thing to do would be to inform the prescribing doctor that it is no longer helping your pain. It is normal to develop a tolerance to a medication that you've taken for a long-period of time and for it to stop working as well, when that happens. It might be time to move on to a different medication to handle your pain. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth an...

Bp level are not stable.., ## I am changing from urizide to lorsatan give advice ## What are your current BP levels? The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Hi, I am trying to time my period to finish before my wedding on October 4th! I have been taking tri-previfem for several months, and have it scheduled out the I would be on my period during that same week of my wedding. Can I adjust the order I take the pills to have my period a week earlier?! I am on my period now, I usually bleed from Wednesday to Sunday. I actually had some spotting this period prior to starting the placebo week. Any thoughts or suggestions? ## Hello, Katie! How are you? Congratulations on the wedding! Yes, it is safe to do that, unless your doctor gives some reason why you shouldn't. Many women do it to get control of when they have their period, to avoid having it on special occasions, or to skip their periods altogether. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have found that there is a manufacturer shortage in the area for oxycodone and I am unable to fill my Rx for the 15mg. pills. I am supposed to take 4 a day. The pharmacy told me to ask my doctor to switch to Hydromorphone and I don't know much about it, and I was looking for some answers to what would work better or is there something else that I should look into? Does anyone have any ideas? ## Hello, KimDar! How are you? It really depends on what works best for you. Hydromorphone is a very potent and effective, so it may work well for you. The equivalent dose of it would be 5.62mgs for each 15mgs of Oxycodone that you were taking, so it could be worth asking your doctor about. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming ...

I have 3 stents (seven years) and a heart valve replacement (5 years) but have thin blood, which can cause nose bleeds and prolonged bleeding after cuts or injuries. So my cardiologist put me on Aspirin rather than Warfarin to help prevent blood clots/stroke. Since then I have had only a handful of minor heart issues (palpitations but no chest pain, heart attack or stroke). My cardiologist recently retired and my new specialist has insisted that I need to replace the Aspirin with a combination of Xarelto and Clopidogrel. I fear if i make this change I will have serious side effects, including serious nose bleeds (I once spent 3 days in hospital with a nose bleed). If I choose to stay on the Asprin will I be at serious risk of having a stroke? ## You could ask them to check your clotting...

I have been taking oxycodone HCL 15mg for 2 months. Is there a good reason to change to percocet 15mg? What's the difference? ## Hello, Susan! How are you? There is no 15mg Percocet available on the U.S. market. Percocet contains Oxycodone coupled with Acetaminophen, since it can augment the action of the narcotic in some people that take it. However, the maximum dosage available contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
