25 Mg A Day How Do I Wean

My regular doctor left the clinic I have been at since 2010. New doctor at same clinic wants to wean me off my daily 280mg of methadone in just 4 weeks time. Have been on this dose for 25+ years... Mayo clinic, and my original doctor from Hawaii and clearance from two cardiologist have said no reason to stop at this point and no risk. Mistake was to not check this new doctor out first who I have since discovered is notorious for pulling this on patients for no reason. I been on metoprolol for 2 half weeks. I had know side effects until 5 days ago. I started have dizzyness and was very tried. My dr. told me to cut it in half once a day and now I'm lightheaded all day and still tired. I don't know if this normal or not but can someone help!!! I started topamax 3 weeks ago at 25 mg, then one week later up to 50. I had a severe allergic reaction. My doctor said to wean off 25 mg every other day... I'm very sick. Any advice for withdrawals and side effects? ## What type of allergic reaction have you experienced? If it was a severe one, as you said, then it is very odd that he would have you continue taking it, at all, rather than having you just stop it and switch to a different medication. Having only been on it for 3 weeks, you likely won't experience any severe withdrawal effects, while a sudden withdrawal may create a risk of seizures, according to the FDA, the can usually be mitigated by switching to a different medication that's used to treat the same disorders.

I am taking multiple medicines for my hypertension. 10mg lisinopril, 50 mg Metroprolol XR and Chlorthalidone 25 mg. In the afternoons, I get very dizzy, have mild chest pain and I have spaced the doses out to determine that it is the Chlorthalidone that is the cause. My cholesterol has also shot up after taking Metroprolol & Chlorthalidone for 4 months. My doctor says it is fine to just stop the Chlorthalidone but I am worried about rebounding edema. I am a 54 year old female. I'm thinking maybe it would be better to wean by skipping one day, then 2 days, then 3 days until I see how I react since this medicine remains in your system so long. I have been reading all of the posts on Fent. pain patches. I have been on 25 MG since March 2009. I was on one brand and could not get it to stay stuck after a hot flash. I am in surgically induced menopause. The pharm then switched brands, which do stick better. But I have noticed about an hour after a hot flash that I get dizzy and sick to my tummy. I also am in stage 3 kidney failure. I decided to call the number on the back Mylan box. I successfully weaned myself off of a 8 year opioid addiction. The last drug I was on was Methadone 30mg a day for about a year but I took every medication for pain at one point or another. Overdosing 3 in the process. I had major spine surgery in October 2016 to straighten my spine and fused 6 discs. I went from 30 mg a day to 10mg very fast, stayed there a month or so then I went to 5mg/day. Stayed there for a few weeks and went to 2.5mg (My PM Dr. gave me a prescription for 5mg tabs that are scored). A few weeks later I was down to 1.25mg. I did that for 2 weeks then I quit one night. No withdrawals! I can feel every screw in my back but I don't care because I am free of addiction.

I am trying to wean myself off of Seroquel. I started at 100mg and weaned myself down to 25. It was fine for a while until anxiety symptoms reoccurred. I am now taking about 3/4 of a 25 mg tablet by shaving it down with a file. I also take .5mg clonopin at night to curb anxiety. The problem is that I am waking up groggy and tired, which is weird because that never happened on the higher dose. But If I try to shave it back to half a pill, I can't sleep and experience bad anxiety. In Canada, Ritalin SR 20mg is yellow with a small black symbol-In the US, they are white but I did not look at the symbols on the pills.I require 6omg in the morning to wake up and I think that I got 2 white pills mixed up. I took 3 that had an M symbol on one side which I now thing was methadone which I am weaning myself off of.l am down from 50mg a day to 25mg. I used to be on 600 mg of Epilum in the mornings as well as at night. I gained a lot of weight and started to complain about this so the doctor prescribe 50 mg of Topomax in the morning as well as at night. I was also drinking Urbanol 10 mg morning and at night. I went to a new Neurologist that advised me to take Epitec 25 mg and wean down on the Epilum. At the moment I drink 200 mg of Epilum in the morning and in the night. I also lost more than 10 kg of weight. Every 2 weeks I increase my Epitec dosage and are currently taking 100 mg at night and 100 mg in the morning. I have been on depakote for epilepsy since about 2004. For the past 3 years I was taking 250mg everyday and sometimes every other day. I recently did an EEG and it came out normal. I started weaning of the meds to just every 5 days and recently every week. I notice on about the 6th or 7th day I feel light headed, anxiety, a bit dizziness that comes and goes. I also get sensitive to sounds. I will take 250 mg when I feel that and the symptoms go away. Haven't had a seizure since 2009. I was on liquid Methadone for chronic pain for years and while on waiting list to switch to a new Pain center, I was weaning off methadone rapidly at 2mgs a day from 120 to 38mg. I was also on 20 to 40 mgs a day oxycodone for breakthrough pain. Now, last month, my new doc put me on 25mcg/h patch. Yesterday, he informed me that I am now ONLY getting pain management from him (understandable) and cut me off and did not prescribe any more oxycodone and I was to stop at 38mgs methadone. I took 250 to 300 mg of lyrica daily for fibromyalgia, for 9 years. I have stopped due to medicare supplement insurance doesn't cover it. My Dr. weaned me off over the summer. Now I may not pursue other meds to replace it. It's been 6 weeks since my last dose. I can't eat. Nothing tastes good most days. My EP Dr told me to cold Turkey my Metoprolol 50mg bid and start Losartan once daily... is this ok? ## It is always best to follow your doctor's instructions. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Losartan as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and increased urination. Have you made the switch, yet? I have been taking metoprolol tartrate 50 mg cut in half so 25 mg twice a day for 8 years. I been having bad side effects and convinced doctor to take me off Metoprolol. My new High blood pressure med is Atacand 8 mg.. So no wean off just stopped cold turkey and replaced with the Atacand. Today is day one my blood pressure is within the normal but my heartbeats are up about 15 bpm. It's like my adrenals are working again. Feel great already going to meditate daily and try to stay calm to keep the heartbeats down. Okay I quit taking Lyrica about a week and a half ago, I just stopped feeling drunk about 2 days ago. I am on day 3 of Savella Titration pack and I am starting to feel much better, I actually have energy! There are blogs like this one about Savella and some people say there are nasty side effects while your body gets used to this med as well, but I have not felt any yet.
