Success! As planned, I started June by taking one 15mg Morphine Sulfate ER per day. However, three days in and feeling no worse, I changed my plan. I had about 10 Norco 10/325 and cut them in half. For the next 4 days I took the 1/2 Norco which is almost equivalent to 1/2 of the Morphine tablet which cannot be cut. Today, June 17, 2015 I have been free from all of those horrible drugs for 10 days. Other than diarrhea I have not had any of the symptoms I've read about and worried so much about. I started with Darvon 21 years ago, then Norco, then Morphine Sulphate ER and now, I'm done. I feel blessed and hope that all of you can find your way to being drug free. Good luck.

I was taking 60mg of Morphine ER at the beginning of 2015 and cut down to 45mg in February. At the beginning of May I dropped to 30mg. Although my chronic pain has increased and I am currently experiencing some stomach pain, I'm committed to getting off of this drug. I plan to drop the dosage to 15mg beginning June 1 and be completely done by July 4, Independence Day. Admittedly, I'm very frightened by the prospect of withdrawal symptoms and thought this may be the easiest way to taper off.

the way i psychologically approach kik'n dope (morphine, heroin, oc etc.) is that i tell myself its just the flu or a really gnar virus. you know when you have the flu you are already resigned to have the flu and you just deal with it. with dope its harder because you know that you can make yourself feel better instantly. also what i do is get a couple of those 8mg. sublingual soboxone and cut them into 4 strips each, whenever i start feeling sick i let it ride until i cant handle it then i take one of the strips. but to a degree you have to make yourself go through the sickness...its not going to kill you no matter how much you think it will...suck it up and just get it over with. you will be a much stronger person for it afterwards. and always remember, we do this s*** to ourselves, so you shouldn't fear the repercussions. you can do it homie!!! hit me on fb if you have any questions xxxxxxxxx {edited for privacy}

Severe withdrawals usually only occur if you stop taking such medications abruptly, if you taper off of them, then it can really help to minimize them a lot.

Have you talked to your doctor about it? They should be able to help you set up a taper schedule that can minimize the withdrawal effects, though you'll likely still experience some.
