I just started this new drug 5 days ago and will try and let everyone know how I do along the way. I have stage 3 ckd with my number of potassium at 5.5. I had been taking Kiotex and it wasn't solving my problem, so my doctor decided to put me on this. This medication is used to treat high blood potassium, since that can be just as dangerous as it being too low. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including constipation, abdominal pain, low blood magnesium, and nausea.
