I am taking 500 mg. of metronidazolet twice a day because I have an infection. My doctor took a swab test of my vagina, he told me after testing that I have an infection, he called the name of the infection, it was a real long name of which I can't remember. I was so surprised I forgot to ask him any questions. but what I am interested now is if this is a transmitted sexual disease . I am a 73, a widow and have not had sex in over 8 years, so I am wondering how I could have gotten a disease. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.
