I really don't know the answer to what you are asking but I was on Percocet for 7 years when I got pregnant. I was told subutex was safer for my baby than the Percocet. I was on pm's for my back and being pregnant definately caused more pain but the subutex helped greatly. And due to the fact that subutex stays in your system a long time , I was able to skip a couple if days and was fine ( but that was me). When my daughter was born they told me that it was possible that she may need to stay up to a month in the hospital depending on her wd. She never displayed ANY signs of withdrawal and came home with me. She is happy, healthy and has met or exceeded her milestone timelines ( I heard stories of children meeting milestones later)
I just wanted to share with you and to let you know my experience. Good luck

Hi Jennifer,

Subutex (sublingual buprenorphine) is a pregnancy Category C drug, meaning it may not be safe for use during pregnancy.

That said, I too, wonder what types of effects this has on the body and the fetus in general. To find out though if the levels of this drug are fluctuating during pregnancy, one would have to get tested at your doctor's office, since there doesn't appear to be any specific details available online regarding this sort of thing.

On a side note: if you're taking this pill with food (fatty foods in particular), I think it may impact the rate at which the drug is absorbed - but that is just my theory since fat slows down metabolism.

I hope this helps!
