Are there any lower cost substitutes for Accolate? Anyone know when the patent on it runs out? ## I have received no replies to my inquiry. I have been trying to get Accolate from someplace other than the U.S. or Canada - India perhaps or Israel. Neither place can provide it. I since have found that (apparently) the patent runs out in September 2010. BUT I have also found that the FDA has posted (8/28/09) serious new side effects from Accolate and a couple of other drugs in the same area. I have therefore stopped taking it. I will confer with my healthcare provider about this in the next week or so.
