on 3rd day. Have bm' s in morning about 45/60 mins after taking Linzess. Those are only ones for the day. They are easier and formed. After I feel really good until afternoon when the bloating comes and feel full in bowel. Taking Gas X seems to help. When does full effect of Linzess happen? If IBS-C is the reason is this a 24/7 365 day or will there be periods of relief? Don't want to be on meds forever!!! Does it get better??? This is my first episode and it's been a month. 64 years old, would have thought it would have started when I was younger! - Filed in Linzess

Nortriptoline, never heard of it. Is it for IBS too? I am on day 16 or so of Linzess and feeling great!!! No need for Gas X anymore. Doctor is optimistic that I will not be on it long term. I sure like it better than the alternative!!!

Thanks for response Verwon!!! Seems to be agreeing with me. Still have the bouts with bloating/gas especially after eating. Gas X helps.
Heard from my doctor that he is optimistic it will clear up in time. Something about it happening after emergency splenectomy and my colonoscopy was good. He wants me to keep track which I do by writing down everyday. Have Kaiser for now or else it would be to expensive to get!!!
I wish everyone suffering with IBS relief and resolve!!!

Hello, Dot! How are you?

It may take a couple weeks for it to reach its full level of efficacy in your body, but most people do have some results similar to yours early on.

As listed by the FDA, other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness and diarrhea.

As to whether or not you'll have periods of relief, no one can really say. It depends on your body. Some do, but some don't and require medications for life.

Can anyone else with this condition chime in?
