I have panic attacks and high anxiety, but where l live l can't find a dr to help me. They all know mental health drugs and l will not take mental health pills. Can you give me some suggestions? Dr's don't care anymore.

I couldn't agree with you more on not wanting to succumb to the notion of taking something like xanax, with the risk of so many side effects. I saw a similar post on here about someone not being able to get sufficient anxiety relief through the medications recommended by their doctor, where another comment had mentioned utilizing 'therapy sessions' to help manage anxiety/panic during those times when medications either fell short, or weren't readily available. So I just wanted to build on that suggestion and encourage you to consider finding ways to work through the mental aspect of feeling anxious or being in a state of panic. From my experience, the first thing to do (when in a state of anxiety/panic) would probably be to distract yourself by putting your full undivided attention on something completely different in that very moment; whether it be a change of thoughts or something within your immediate surroundings to focus on for 5-10min. Making the conscious/deliberate effort to do so may in-turn help you to calm down and worry less; thus enabling you to focus on 'why' you were feeling the way that you were feeling...after dissecting the reason why and accepting it for what it is, you can then have a choice to "decide" to feel differently and be more in alignment with how you choose to feel in that moment. Anxiety and panic are very psychological and I believe that once you know how to work through them in your mind, you'd never have to rely on anything but yourself to get you through that uncomfortable experience. This is not to be mistaken for medical advice, but it's something I've had success with and just wanted to share that approach with others, hoping it can help people overcome certain chemical imbalances.
