Wisdom Tooth Infection

I was started on Azithromycin by my Dr. in case I had strep throat but come to find out I have a real bad wisdom tooth infection, which is very painful..The script of Azithromycin is for 5days will this work for my infection in my tooth?

It may help, but 5 days may not be enough to completely eradicate the infection and it will not correct the underlying cause of the dental infection, so you'll still need to see your dentist, or the infection will keep returning.
