Side Affects Of Medicine

I have occasional anxiety so I do not need to take the medication on a daily basis. If the side affects are drowsiness and dizziness, how can this be okay for me to take through the day? If I take it at bedtime will it continue to work through the next day?

If you take hydrooxyzine at bedtime, it may well still have some effect the next day. However, for anxiety, it usually is most effective at the time one is having problems. Check with your doctor who prescribed it, and tell him/her about the drowsiness it causes you. Maybe she/he could try a lower dose for you. That mild sedating/drowsy effect is one way it hydroxyzine calms folks, though.

There are also other antianxiety medications that you could try, such as BuSpar (Buspirone), it doesn't cause the same continual fatigue, and drowsiness as Hydroxyzine, so you may want to ask your doctor about trying a different medication.
