I had been taking a white colored hydrocodone but all of a sudden the pharmacy started giving me pink ones. At first I thought nothing of it but soon realized I was not getting the same results. I talked to my Dr thinking perhaps I needed one stronger but would let her know and watch it for awhile. This month I got the white pills again and after a week I realized these took care of my pain and lasted longer. My question is, what is the ingredient that makes them pink as I'm highly allergic to red dye and am thinking this could be the problem.

Hello, Jacki! How are you? I am sorry about the problems you've experienced.
What are the markings on them? I'm sorry, but a pill cannot be positively identified based on just the color.
The FDA warns that Hydrocodone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
