Nitrofurantoin Antibiotic

I have being taking nitrofurantoin for 3 days , i had a bad headache and pain in my stomag. Iwas recommended to take this antibiotic for 7 days. Can i stop taking it or can i take another medication.?Also let me know if I can break the tablet in food. Im very bad at swolling pills i hate it.

Hello, Vivi! How are you? I'm sorry that you're so miserable.

Those are normal side effects of this medication, as listed by the FDA and you should continue taking it, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise.

Taking it with food can sometimes help prevent the stomach pain and nausea. Other side effects may include dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

And yes, you can break them, if necessary, as long as you take the whole tablet.
