Lisinopril Tablets (Page 5)
UpdatedI have been taking Lisinopril 20 mg from manufacturer Lupin for years. My most recent renewal was the same color and Lupin on one side and 20 on other but the pill is half the size of the one I have been getting. Still says Lupin but I am concerned. Anyone notice the difference?
Your really quite annoying. Not just a handful having problems according to medical department large amount of people having issues. Who are you anyway to toss it around like it's nothing
They are made with some of the inactive ingredients missing now and for those people with digestive problems those inactive ingredients could have been buffers for the gut and helped them tolerant the active ingredients that are still there
Agent J. They changed the pill to smaller version in 2017 so your statistics don't hold water. You are the only one out there denying the problems. Are you a pawn for Lupin Pharm?
The active ingredients supposedly the same but by taking out three of the inactive ingredients changes the molecular compound and what the inactive ingredients may have done helped people tolerate the active ingredients for digestion.
Marlene. I was forced to change to Losartan 50 mg but am not tolerating it as well as Lisinopril 20 mg which I took for years
No the 10/12.5 has a diuretic in it the regular 10 does not....check with your dr.
Barry. So far the 5 mg has not be altered. Instead of taking the new 10mg my doctor and pharmacist changes me to two 5. It is working the horrible gastric upset and bloating and gas has all gotten under control
Lori H., Thank you for your comments. I have been taking Lupin 20 mg for 2 years. Now, with the smaller tablet. I stay awake all night long...even if taken in the morning. I switched to Sandoz brand which I used to take and they have changed from an oval shape to a small round one...SAME PROBLEM!!! Let me know if you find a suitable substitute by another manufacturer. I'm wondering if the SAME MANUFACTURER is now making tablets for different COMPANY NAMES. I can't tell what the ingrediant in the "filler" causes this reaction, but of course, I now have a big problem. Did you find a GOOD SUBSTITUTE? I wish you well....
Hi Lyn - I did find a good substitute, or rather, my doctor did. It's Losartan - a "cousin" to lisinopril. I feel it works nearly as well, although I also had to change my HCTZ to Lasic for optimum results. I pray you have success in finding the right med for you! Thank you for your kind words!
Why is it every time I get my lisinopril it is a different size and color? It goes from small oval pink to now round and white. Can someone please tell me if this is normal or something I should be concerned about? Who knows next month, could be some strange color and size. It may be generic but what the hell is going on???
Re: ROJO (# 90)
Yes, it is something you should be concerned about. The manufacturer Lupin is off the wall and jerking all of us around. I gave up on Lisinopril and switched to Losartan.
Re: Barry (# 3)
I am having issues with smaller 20 mg pill. My lodging pressure is way up. Talked to Walgreens about this problem, they assured me it is same medicine however it is not working for me.
Joe.
Re: Joe (# 92)
Walgreens does not know. It is not the same medicine
Re: Barry (# 93)
According to Lupin pharmaceutical the active ingredients are the same. They removed several of the inactive ingredients. I am now being treated for two ulcers. Immediately after starting the new formulation for three weeks my stomach was very messed up. My doctor changed me to taking two 5 mg pills instead of 10mg. The 5mg formulation has not been changed so far.
Re: Barry (# 91)
you should hire an attorney, i seems pretty clear you have a case.
Re: Barry (# 7)
Another case of years of satisfactory use and a sudden spike in my BP after the size change. Just anecdotal?
Re: Paul (# 96)
Thinking about it. I didn't have an issue before with stomachnulcerations
Re: Curious80 (# 4)
I called manufacture and they did change the size but the strength is the same. They said they took out fillers. I lodged a complaint because I am have side effects that I never had with the old size pills. Calling Doctor to change perscription.
Re: Marlene (# 94)
This is the same thing I did a couple of months ago... only after trying the 10 mg smaller pill. So far, since the 5 mg hasn't changed... I have felt great!
Re: Paul (# 96)
Mine went up as well and I had headaches, felt dizzy and was very tired....I called CVS they had some of the old left I was on the 20 dose....I now feel myself..I am asking them to get some in from another manufacturer...Hope this helps
