Lisinopril Increased Gfr

58 yo female on lisinopril 10mg for 1 yr. gfr 55 b4 script, now 39, keep loosing weight, feel really crappy and weak. all dr is cocerned with is cholesterol. BP ok on med. I stpd taking med for 5 days. 4 days bp 123/83, tdy creaping up so I will start again but because of gfr, i would like to take 1/2 dose. No heart problems otherwise.

The test should actually be reported twice more, a month apart each and then, if it stays low, your medication may need to be change and other tests done.

I've had mine drop, before, due to dehydration. Once it was rectified, things returned to normal.

There's also a chance that this drop to yours is just temporary, due to the Lisinopril, but may return to more normal levels as your body adjusts.

However, the 55 was also slightly low. Do you have some type of kidney disease or problem?

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Lisinopril as possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.

Are you on any other medications?
