Hello, Connie! How are you? I'm very sorry about the tooth ache.
While this medication is often prescribed for toothaches, it will not help correct the underlying cause, such as a deep dental cary. So, you still need to see your dentist, as you may actually require an antibiotic, if an infection is present.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
