How Long Before Testopel Pellets Start Working? (Page 34) (Top voted first)
UpdatedJust had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.
Dont do anything until you see your level
Hopefully you will get an adequate amount of pellets (14+). I am still doing the weekly shots until my HSA card cools off a little. I don't mind the shots and they are quite a bit cheaper than the pellets....however with that being said I am going to go with the pellets again in the future as it is 'suppose' to be a better form of Test.
Wow, I havent had a morning erection in 25 years!!!
I'm still waiting for insurance authorization for testopel.
I was taking androgel for 10 months and the insurance stopped covering it, so now I'm eager to try testopel.
Thanks for the info.Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day at the Dr.
well my original t level was an 8, yes an eight. i have had problems all my life, i am 53. with shots my t level was 900. at 900 i feel nothing. no sex drive, no morning erections, no libido. i just had 12 pellets inserted yesterday. i was once at a 1500 level t with a high dose every week with shots, that was nice! doc said way to high and spaced the shots out. now the real kicker, blood work up shows i have .4 level of lh and fsh and low level of prolactin and sex gluton. urologist says he can only work on t level, he says workup shows that it all originated in my pituitary gland, and hypothmus not the testies, by the way are the size of a peanut. you can just imagine the size of my penis, you would laugh. i also take medicine for parkinsons, seizure control, cardiac for blood pressure and edema, acid reflux and psychotrofic meds for depresson, anxieity, and i have sleep apnea. and take a sleeping pill. i know all the meds have scewd things up. and have to go to an endo. plus a stroke at 45, only left with me with executive cognitve functions. any body out there have some kind issue like this? how much do i need to counter all the other stuff? is 1500 too high in the eyes of the doctors? who knows what the endo. will do? anybody out there have a magic trick or something to say? reese
If you are taking Ambien, I would suggest asking your doctor about stopping. I was on it and it messes you up on many levels. With your problems that you mention and others as well as crummy sleep and overall irritability, I would stop taking it immediately.
The testopel was put in me on Friday. Today is Sunday and I slept all weekend. I do not think it works very wel. I am not sure how long it takws to go in to efect. So far no change
Maybe our government is buying up all the T like they are doing with the ammo so as to somehow reduce the cost for all of us? :)
Ginger, I also am confused by your many posts and wonder the value of trying to "sell" your product on this blog. I went to the site for your product and honestly their was little information about the product and nothing about FDA approval. The closest "provider" is 147 miles away from me which is puzzling since I live in Boston, truly the HUB of medical schools and practitioners. I have only read two posts on this blog that mentioned stitch sutures - the minority with testopel insertion so I think you make a weak case there. I suppose my last comment is that the value of this blog from what I have read and posted is that men can freely help each other through their individual experiences with testopel and ther treatments (positive and negative) and that we're not trying to sell each other on new products but provide information that may help others...
simple fact....we are all users, not vendors.
To me .... it's not the information that was passed along, but your decidedly 'questionable' attitude that went along with it. For me, personally, I am always wanting for any information that I can get re: HRT. Just my opinion.
Most men need at least 1600 mg to feel true symptom relief, but hope you so feel more energy. Also, with that dose you may need to repellet every 3 months. Applying an ice pack to the area the pellets are placed(not the incision site) immeadiately following the procedure and keeping it iced off and on that day will greatly reduce bruising and soreness. Also reccommend no submersing in water and no activities that work your glutes for 7 days. Infections are very rare if procedure done properly, but they can happen.
I think the pellets just do not work with some. I am not sure it is your docs fault. Chalk it up to 'sh!t happens and just stick with what works. Pellets unfortunately did not work for me either. I stick with the injections. Had my levels checked a few weeks back and I was at 1000....up from 440. As much as I would like to be on the pellets, they would not even get me over 500. AND they cost me over @ $800.
Don't hold your breathe. I'm on week 4 and still nothing! First two weeks were hell. Moody, weak, and sex drive was and still is non existent. I was doing fine with the shots and the armpit rub on gel, but my levels went down instead of up. Go figure. So he says to me this isn't working, but the pellets will and I'm giving you 2 extra for an extra boost. My whole package has shrunk back inside my body. I'm guessing by next month at this rate I will have a full vagina between my legs. The fact that my doctor didn't even want to speak to me directly on the phone when I called to complain really pissed me off. I have basically lost all hope of bringing my manliness back. I now how erection issues since the treatment. Now I'll have to bite the bullet and request viagra as yet another "patch" to the problem and not a solution. I'm outraged that not one doctor out of the 3 I have seen has check my body fat, stress levels, or general health for that matter. I'm guessing they rely on blood work results only.
I do not necessarily notice the 'kick in' anymore. Not sure I ever felt that surge that people talk about. I do 1 ml every 7 days...sometimes 8 if I forget. No issues what so ever. Last week I injected into my thigh for the first time, prior to that I was rotating between butt cheeks. 23gs 1.5" needle is what I normally use but for some reason my CVS cannot seem to get the 1.5" anymore so I am using the 1" needle. Still waiting for the generic T to be available again but for some reason I do not think that is going to happen.
Are you aware of a bill that is going to vote this week in Congress, S959...you might be interested in checking it out. May adversely affect our access to HRT as well as other compounded meds...
Online, lots of places online.
Google, ZRT Saliva test
Don, just divide your post pelleting T. Test by your post Estradiol and multiply by 100....3-5% is good, 6% is probably treatable with DIM, anything over that you would want to take a rx aromatase inhibitor, but check it before next pelleting, you may can taper down your dose. You just don't want to drive your Est too low, that will make for an angry man...and a T Test at 587 may give you some symptom relief, you recieve the best results at a leevel of 800-1200. I'm not a doctor, but I am in this business. Unfortunately, a lot of doctors are very uninformed in BHRT.
I have an appt this afternoon for my 7th round of biote and have been on this therapy for just under 3 years, I am 53, but feel like 23!!!
There are practices that provide pellet therapy that can keep you at levels>800 and sustain that for up to 6 months. Most men require trx every 5-6 months and once you set your frequency, appts can be set so you don't have to take the shot while you wait for your next appt. Also, keep in mind that IV's are NOT Bioidentical and must be processes through the liver and converted into testosterone. I'm a BioTE user and swear by it! And if you have spouses, you may want to make sure that they are up to par with you! Testosterone can be great for a relationship or it can tear it apart if partners are not on the same level so to speak. Women lose testosterone at a much higher rate, starting in their 20's and have many of the same symptoms...just an FYI...
I have been using testopel for about three years now. I have learned is the doctor needs to learn how to insert without after pain. The first time I went to him I thought o my god I don't know if I can go through this every 5 to 6 months but as time went on and I would let him know how I felt he has finally learned how to insert with little to no after pain. As for how often we are all different some like myself may need it every 3 months others 6. Like most of you I did try all the other options but this works for.
