Hello, Coconut! How are you?
Guillain-Barré is an acute polyneuropathy, it's an ascending paralysis, it starts with weakness in the hands and feet, which then slowly moves in towards the trunk. It is most commonly triggered by an infection.
Supportive care is usually the main treatment, to ensure that the patient continues receiving oxygen and, of course, antibiotics to try to eradicate the infection and stop the body's attack on the nervous system.
