(Newest replies first)

Updated

I need a decent pain doctor/pcp/internal medicine doctor near Phoenix or suburbs of Phoenix that will prescribe 30mg.oxycodone. I.have been in three car accidents-broken collar.bone-broken leg-two knee surgies-torn rotary cuff-torn acl-and missing muscle and tissue in my hip. I am a 23year old female so most hesitate to help and dont understand that it shouldn't matter my age it should matter what happened to me and what works. Please respond with any suggestions.

I have a terrific pain doctor in Phoenix, AZ. Have a really bad back. Had neck surgery too. Dr. Ashu Goile in Scottsdale, AZ gave me injections for my neck and lower back. got instant relief. You need an MRI to see him.

Dr. Ashu Goyle
5425 E. Bell Rd,
Suite 115480-467-22763

He has several locations. hope he can help you.

one main reason I have put off moving from FL to AZ is is the doctor situation. Most pain docs in fl write for 180 + for oxy 30 a month and oxycontin 40mg twice a day or mscontin 60-100mg.
I know people that have moved here because they are easy to get

Thank you for your reply and suggestion. Unfortunately I do always go in like you said...open without demands and very detailed of what I have tried and what works/doesnt and still have yet to find another doctor that works. My previous doctor changed to more therapy and rehabilitation. I have tried you name it...injections...medication both weak and strong even a medication that caused narcolepsy which was not fun to say the least....oxycodone works best and it just seems like most doctors I run into are very new age and just promote injections which are awful and yoga which only helps so much. I just feel as though Arizona has become impossible to find a doctor that believes people anymore and is willing to prescribe what works because so many people come in looking like drug addicts. It is a very sad situation for those who truly do need the medication.

Hi pinky,

Sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics).

Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. Then, the best approach in my opinion, is to discuss up front and honestly what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. Most doctors will take it under consideration and hear you out if you approach them in this manner. I believe a lot of patients don't get the medication they need because they are approaching the doctor in such a needy way that they are being viewed as addicts or junkies and not patients. So as awkward as that may seem, it is something to be made aware of.

I may not have a personal doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in so far as locating pain management doctors/specialists within your general area.

Just input your city or zip code for narrowed results:

I hope this info helps and wish you good luck on finding the right care!
