Hi I called this program did they require Visa card info
There is no need to take the generic of Wellbutrin XL. The manufacturer, Valeant, has a program where by they distribute the drug via the Direct Success Pharmacy in New Jersey. I just received my first 90-day supply and only paid $150, no insurance. Check out the manufacturer's site wellbutrinxl.com.
The Global 150mg is useless and should be banned by the FDA! I have filed a complaint with the FDA. Anchen is the only bupropion XL brand that I know works.
Just to clear up some of the confusion. TEVA pharmaceuticals IS marketing their bupropion hcl 200 mg through GLOBAL Pharmaceuticals as of 2013. (It used to be marketed through impax labs.) I was on the TEVA pill for quite a while until I couldn't get it at my CVS anymore after the FDA recall of their 300 mg XL pill in October, 2012.(They pulled the 200 mg TEVA as well.) They switched me to the Watson brand and I couldn't believe how much better it worked. (I question now whether the TEVA brand had ever worked.) I then switched to the higher dosage Watson brand at 300 mg XL for several months. Just last month, I switched back to the 200 mg SR and low and behold, I got the same TEVA pill I had been on before the recall except now it says Global pharmaceuticals instead of teva/impax labs. I experienced dizziness to the point of feeling faint which leads me to believe their release mechanism has not been investigated or changed. I just got my CVS to order the Watson brand. I wouldn't use TEVA again for any reason--especially since they are choosing "marketing disguises" to distance the name from the original pill!!!
Hi, Silvia!
I think you're misunderstanding information regarding the manufacturing of medications. When a medication is available as a generic, it is usually manufactured by several different companies, this creates competition, which helps keep prices lower for those who are uninsured.
So Teva has not been renamed Global, they are two different prescription drug manufacturers.
The ones that you've received that are oval, yellow and have the marking 681 on them were manufactured by Global Pharmaceuticals.
Learn more Bupropion details here.
When one company has a recall on a medication due to some problem, it is isolated just to their product, it does not encompass all the other companies that manufacture the same drug.
An all encompassing recall only happens when something is found to be dangerously unsafe and is being completely removed from the market, in which case, your pharmacy wouldn't have had any to fill your prescription and they would have informed you to contact your doctor to switch medications.
Are there any other questions or concerns?
