Hi Gina,

I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to your bulldog. A bite on the ear sounds pretty gnarly!

In my honest opinion it would probably be best to contact a vet and get their approval before giving any sort of medication to your dog. However I don't think it is uncommon to hear about dogs being prescribed amoxicillin.

According to standard pet medication dosage charts, the usual dose of amoxicillin in dogs is reportedly 5 to 10mg per pound, taken every 12 to 24 hours. Your local vet should be able to verify this and other pertinent information (including how many days it should be taken for and which type of amoxicillin is most appropriate) after evaluating the severity of the infection.

I hope this helps!
