White Round Thick Pill "54" On One Side And "a"

Found 3 pills when walking the dog in a baggie? My dog actually found them but luckily they were zipped. I tried to google and I think they are blood pressure meds. Why would someone throw away or out a window?
Brand Names: Lotensin
Generic Name: benazepril
Is this correct? Or were these narcotics or something that could have killed my dog?

Hello, Leigh! How are you? While there may always be risks if dogs eat such pills, your research was correct.

These are manufactured by Amneal Pharmaceuticals and they list them as containing 40mgs of Benazepril, which is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

I am very glad your dog didn't eat them. I am always terrified when I see our pups trying to get into something, when we're walking them. Our oldest that's almost 10 got sick and required a vet visit due to getting a sinus blockage from something that was left outside.
