Valsartan Manufactuers
UpdatedValsartan manufactured by Sandoz works fine for me. Valsartan manufactured by Qualitest causes me to have headaches and swollen ankles.

Hi Beverly,
I've seen a lot of posts here dissecting different manufacturer's that work better than others, including ways to ensure you receive the proper brand that works best. Something I would encourage you to do is contact your doctor prior to getting your next prescription written, and ask him/her to specify a particular manufacturer's name on the Rx. By doing this, whichever pharmacy you go to will now have to find a way to abide by the doctor's request or quite simply refer you to another location that does carry the appropriate brand. To avoid further questioning on the pharmacist's part, it may also be a good idea see if your doctor will jot down a brief description as to why you require a certain brand over other options. Many people here on MedsChat have reported success with this approach and I don't think you have anything to lose in the process.
Please post back if you have any updates on how things work out!
I'm trying to find the generic drug valsartan that is actually made in the USA. The brand name of this drug is called Diovan. Is there a US made generic valsartan?
I take Valsartan 80 mg. When it was made by SANDOZ I had no side effects and it worked perfectly. Since taking Valsartan by AUROBINDO my blood pressure is all over the place.
I am sure, other than Sandoz closing its NJ plant and stopped making the generic drug, others have tried to replace it, and the drugstore chains are buying the CHEAPEST they can find. They DON'T have the patients in mind, it's the all mighty DOLLAR that they care about.
Re: Comments Submitted (# 3)
I complained to Aurobindo and CVS about their product which is clearly inferior. Tablets dissolve when even damp. I have refused to accept Aurobindo as a manufacturer. Check out the federal information regarding this company. I asked for a US manufacturer but so far have not been able to secure one.
Where is (generic) Valsartan made? Is it formulated or preserved with any sulfate types?
