Tri-previfem Dosage
UpdatedMy period started on September 27th. I took the Tri-Previfem pill today Monday,October 6th and accidentally skipped yesterday Sunday Oct. 5th. I started taking the first Monday pill today since I missed yesterday, which was Sunday. How should I take the pills now? Should I just take the remaining 1st weeks pills skipping yesterday's pill, which I have not taken and start on the 2nd week's pill starting this Sunday? Will it affect my period and will it still prevent me from getting pregnant?

Hello, Vicky! How are you?
IF you are just starting the pills, then you actually should have taken the first one on the first day of your period. When taken that way, they are immediately effective at preventing pregnancy.
However, since you started them later in your cycle, you'll need to take them for a full 7 days without missing any tablets, in order for them to become effective. That means no unprotected intercourse until the 8th day, without missing any active tablets.
And yes, since you are taking them this way if may affect your period, you may experience irregular bleeding and may bleed a different week than usual.
You may also experience headache, dizziness, irritability, mood swings and weight gain.
Is there anything else I can help with?
