I have now been on suboxone for a year, I got on it when I found out I was pregnant last January 2013 and I had my beautiful healthy daughter in August 2013 I used to be on subutex during my pregnancy but once I had my daughter I was switched to suboxone. I am on 2 1/2 strips a day and my doctor has been wanting to lower my dose however I have so much going on that I am really nervous to do so. I have lately been dealing with my daughter on my own her father just didn't show me the respect I deserved and he wasn't willing to work to support our daughter so we separated and now I am left on my own with all the finances out daughter and looking for employment which this all just recently happened since the last time I saw my doctor on top of that my daughter has medical issues due to her throat not developing correctly during my pregnancy so we have multiple doctor visits for her monthly and she has special feeding rules and medications to take so I am very overwhelmed. My doctor seems to be harder on me then his other patients some who have been on suboxone for 5+ years so this is making me very nervous to ask him to up my dose from 2 1/2 to 3 strips a day. Does anyone have any advice? I've really been trying to stick it out but I just feel like an emotional wreck and like my body can't take the stress. Please I need advice! How should I ask my doctor to up my dose?

Re: Virginia (# 41) Expand Referenced Message

Hello.... When I went to my doctor I tested opiates and I also tested Suboxone in my urine (the ingredient of the bupe). And I had told them my sister had been visiting from Florida and she had given me two Suboxone strips and had me wait x amount of hours and then I tried it and that's what made my decision that I wanted to be on the Suboxone and not the opiates any longer. They said they're not the drug police and they don't care what's in your system at all until you start the program - then after that they care. Meaning the only thing that should be in your system after you sign the Suboxone doctors program. Just don't have anything else in your system but Suboxone. So they don't care what's in your system as long as you're honest with them. But I did go around the corner and say my sister had given me the Suboxone. He was okay with it. And on my chart he said I'm not going to put your sister down I'm just going to say you bought them on the street so if anything would ever happen then your sister wouldn't be involved. That was pretty nice actually considering. Try something like that, I hope it helps.

Re: Ken (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Ken.
I'm not sure what type of insurance you have of course. But I do know a lot of psychiatrists are writing for subutex and Suboxone. And I've heard nothing but good things about the psychiatrists dispensing subutex and Suboxone if you can go that route they truly help you with more than just the medication. I hope this helps you out some. If you have anymore questions let me know. Wishing you the best can. Have a great day.

My name is Pete, and I'm 48 hours without any Subutex. I was up to 2 a day for several years and a few months ago drop down to one a day and several weeks ago drop down to 2 mg a day and the other night I had a bright idea not to take it anymore. I'm in pretty rough shape but it's not the worst I've ever been. I was sober 22 years from 1988 till whenever I picked up about 8 years ago probably closer to 10 now I just need to get off this stuff I was hoping I could talk to somebody I'm hurting quite a bit

Hello.

I have a friend that has touched a lot of Suboxone foil wrappers and quite a few of the Suboxone itself. I'm trying to make a point with my friend is there any way that could have gotten in his system without him orally taking the medication? He said he didn't take the medication but he has been handling a lot of foils and some strips is this possible? The doctor said he had a slight trace of it in his system she had given him a number and it was 35 I'm not even sure what that means. Thank you I'm hoping someone can help me.

I don't believe so. I've never even heard of red tablets. What do they look like? What imprint did the peach and orange have?

I noticed the Suboxone sublingual 8mg red tablets worked 75 percent better than the peach or orange tablets. Does the color affect the strength?

I have contacted several Suboxone clinics that will not accept my medical insurance for treatment from addiction. I was told that because the physician would not take my insurance, I would need to pay cash for my prescriptions because running it through my insurance proposes risk of insurance fraud for my physician.

Does anyone else run into this problem? Does anyone have any advice for me? Thank you so much for reading and replying to my post.

Re: Aaron (# 33) Expand Referenced Message

I may be wrong but I believe you should test+ for opioids when you enter a program. I know this really presents a problem for those of us that are on Suboxone without a doctors supervision. That is one of the reasons I don’t go.

Re: robert (# 35) Expand Referenced Message

No Suboxone blocks the effects of opioids. You will not feel the opioids if you take Suboxone. And I am sure combining these can cause other ill effects.

Be honest with your doctor. Tell her/him exactly what you expressed here. I honestly believe they will help you. Your prior actions prove your good intentions. Try honesty with your doctor. I did with great results.

I have what resembles bags below my eyes, almost on my cheeks and it began shortly after taking suboxone. Has anyone else on suboxone noticed something similar?

Hello all. I am pregnant. I want my baby. I take prenatal vitamins and eat healthy, but am on 2mg per day of suboxone. I am scared to even start a prenatal appointment. What can I expect? My boyfriend of 10 years and I both have stable jobs and a decent home. However, a few years back I abused pain medication. So ashamed; however, I have been taking small amounts of suboxone to stay away from that. I do not have a prescription. I feel horrible and do not know what to do. I'm definitely going to go... Just want what is best for baby and wonder what will happen. Is it possible my child will be taken away because I don't have a prescription? This is my first. I have taken it about a year and tapered down to 2mg. Doctors normally prescribe 8mg a day. I did all this before being pregnant. Help?

Hey, so my girl took 2 small pieces of suboxone and never has taken opiates before and never took subxone before either. What's the best thing to make her not feel high and clam down? Is there anything?
