Since 11 days ago i got my first Metvix treatment for acne on the back and on the chest. Im a bit worried.. the pain stoped but i still have some red parts over my back and chest. I would like to now if these red-pinkish marks are gonna go away... thx

So I've got 7 piercings in my ears, all of which were perfectly healed up, however about 5 months ago I was put on Roaccutane (Isotetrinoin) for acne. Since about a month or so into the treatment, my most recent two piercings (which had healed up before being prescribed the medicine) have done nothing but leak yellow-green, and sometimes red pus. They're sore and swollen, but the lobes themselves aren't red. I've surgical titanium hoops in them, changed from studs for easier cleaning after the problem began, and I use a hot, sterile compress on them daily, sometimes several times a day, to draw out the dirt and pus from the piercing hole itself before applying Fucidin, given to me by my GP. acne treatment ## Comed is not a prescription drug, it appears to be an over the counter, topical skin acne treatment. This means that it is not actually proven to help with anything. In addition, while I can find it mentioned on a few sites, I can find no specifics on its price, use or ingredients. Has anyone else tried this? ## My sister and I used Komed in the 1980s. It really helped my sister who had very bad acne. It helped me somewhat I didn't have as bad a case of acne as my sister. The only drawback I recall was that if not rubbed in all the way (applied as lotion) a white film at the edges of the application area could be seen; which was embarrassing if a classmate noticed it.

I was on accutane for 7 months 80mg per day. I was having hormonal breakouts that were a constant problem for me. I had tried everything before deciding to take this medication. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I had dry lips and skin but nothing major. I have been off it now for 2 months and love my results. I have had no major side effects or problems from this medication. Remember everyone responds differently to medication. As an ENT specialist, I am treating Keratosis obturans and Cholesteatoma of the external ear canal. Hi.. I have regular periods, every 26-27 days. Last month I had a very stressful job which affected my cycle and just got my period on day 32 (oct 31). I'm going on holiday from nov 24 - dec 9, so my gyn prescribed me 5mg norethisterone tablet (regumen), to be taken twice daily start from day 19 (nov 18) until the holiday ends. As I read in many articles, the dose needed for delaying period is three times daily start 3 days before expected date of period, and twice daily start from day 19-26 to treat irregular bleeding. If used as just to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, how often would I apply and how much (dime size or less) ? ## Hi Debi, Epitrel is most commonly used as an acne cream, but I don't know if the application would be any different for treating fine lines and wrinkles; so that may be something you'd want to confirm with your doctor first. From what I could gather, the US product equivalent is "Retin-A". However, both products contain the same active ingredient (Tretinoin); which is mainly used to treat severe acne. The only thing is, this medication has to be prescribed by a doctor or dermatologist here in the states, so you wouldn't necessarily find it online w/ out a valid prescription. Growing up my family didnt have the resources for dermatologists, and expensive late night infomercial acne solutions and at 14 years old my acne was horrible. I'm 19 next month and have had quite bad acne since I was about 13. Over the years its gradually gotten worse with scars and larger spots. I've been on dianette (contraceptive pill),face washes (zyneryte),benzyl peroxide (which burnt my skin) and antibiotics which have all failed to help long term. I have been on new antibiotics for about a week now (lymecycline) and i'm also using a vitamin supplement called skin accumax (2 tablets twice a day) aswell as using dermalogica to cleanse and moisturise my face. I hv kidney disease and due to that high BP. Both in control with medicatation.Right now my creatinine is 1.66, urea 33 with electrolytes in normal range. From last 2 months my drug for BP & renal is changed to stamlo beta 50/5(1-0-1) & Febuget40 to control BP/uric acid. Before that i was taking Temla R5(1-0-1), Telma R5 changed because potassium increased to >6 so doc advised to take stamlo beta instead telma r5. And really, as long as you are still suffering from it, some type of hormonal therapy is the only thing that's going to help regularize your cycle. Have you consulted your doctor? I had serious acne problem all my teenage life and until i was 35, than my dermatologist recommend Accutane i took it for awhile, cant remember how long may be about 6 month, i experience real dry skin and my complexion got dark, i also got pregnant a month after coming off accutane i have two kids and they have no defects and i have experience no side effects,
