Sildenafil Comparison
(Newest replies first)
Updated
I was originally prescribed Viagra 100 ( ) and then after the patent expired I was prescribed Sildenafoil Teva 100. The original script works very well - the secondary one is almost useless. Is there any difference other than price?

In my experience, generic Sildenafil is not as good as the brand name Viagra.
I had a similar problem, viagra was the most reliable treatment for me. That is it always worked 100 % of the time. I always felt flushing in my head and really sensitive to bright light, then they restructured at my work and i had to take a pay cut and less hours. I couldn't afford it any more and was forced to find a generic version. I tried some viagra from India, I think its name was Filagra or something like that. Well it worked but not as well as the real viagra from Pfizer. I could tell because i no longer got the head flush like viagra, so i suspected it wasnt as strong. My libido improved but really not as much as before. On a trip to thailand on business I found the Thai brand Sidegra, the chemist said it was made by the Thai government pharmacy so i figured it was safe. So I tried it and yes it was much improved. My head was totally flushed and red, my wife noticed how red my face was and my libido was just the same as when i was on viagra, so maybe give that a try. I've been taking sidegra without any issues. I hope this helps mate.
No, they are the same medication, Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra.
I'm not sure how it works there, but in the U.S., under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to different from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% of the active ingredient.
If such a difference is allowable there, you could only be getting an 80mg dose in the generic, which may not be enough to work for you.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stuffy nose and priapism.
Have you spoken to your doctor about it? You may need them to prescribe the brand name, again.
Has anyone any information on this thread please?
