I need to know of any side effects that may occur while taking this medication.

Thanks Kurt, and I to wish I would have considered other means outside of Bactrim. My body chemistry has been all off. I do get slight aches in my hands some numbness in my left leg. Some days I feel great others not. I'll keep fighting the good fight though and will keep you posted.

im going through this exact same thing right now! i just stopped taking it but this rash is everywhere, head to toe. how'd you get rid of the rash?

I have had a rough couple of weeks seems like 2 steps forward, 1 step back with recovery :(

You may require a course of Prednisone and also Benadryl may offer you some relief.

I am in severe pain since last night after taking two doses of bacteria for UTI. I am very afraid that it us not the antibiotic but something worse. I can hardly move my neck. pick something up or twist.
do I go to the Dr?? took two Albee not helping

Definitly let the doctor know ASAP. This drug can do some unpredictable things.

Yes what Kurt said get to the Doctor but don't rule out it being a bactrum reaction. I'm still trying to recover from November! Keep us posted....

I have to agree worst decision I have ever made as well. Chucked the stuff after 5 days.
Had a kidney infection. Still super dizzy, cold hands and nose ( it's 75 degrees here) panic attacks, no appetite, horrible pain radiating from between shoulders out to ribs, hurts to take a deep breath. Basically scared stupid. Never again with this poison!! Trying to flush with plenty of water, organic fruit and yogurt, soups ( organic ingredients) and taking probiotics as well. I wish everyone well, and here's hoping we all recover.

This stuff I's lethal.. Had a 3 day course.. Severe vomiting severe dizziness.. I stopped taking 2 days ago and I still feel ill... No appetite.. Still dizzy still feel sick and can't stop sweating... NOW I've got a yeast infection... Dehydrated and doctor told me never to take again... Feel so ill...

Hi Kurt.. Yeah well today I did the 30 min water flush as iv done many times..Have to say this afafternoon iv improved greatly... Also took rehydration treatment because I was informed that this antibiotic messes with your electrolytes... Feeling good..

I started taking it on Saturday night, by Tuesday I noticed fatigue, on Wednesday I started with a fever and neck soreness, sore throat, loss of appetite, today all of my glands in my neck and head are swollen, tonight the rash appeared and I consulted my friend who is a NP. She recommended stopping the medication immediately and taking benadryl. It's too late to get to a doctor unless I go to the ER, so my husband is staying up to watch my breathing. I also developed a weird cough out of no where!

Another night up at 1am can't sleep due to the restless leg syndrome and permanent damage this drug caused me. 3 gabapentin isn't touching the pain right now :(

Hi.... Woke up yet again this morning with awful nausea and weak shaky legs.. Iv been off it for days now.. As for the cough my doctor actually asked me when I went back how long I'd had it. So they do know there is an issue with this med... To be honest I hadn't really noticed it but she did. All i can say is im glad I got off it a day earlier than I should have.. I just pray the dizzy head says away.... That said I am improving each day. so hang in there... .As i mentioned in my earlier post get some electrolyte sachets and use in your water... Massive help.... .

I'm so sorry to hear, Susan. I've been going to a Chinese medicine doctor and acupuncturist who has been helping me a lot. Lately I've been taking a red ginseng tonic with some other Chinese herbs she mixed up which has really helped my dizziness. The nerve issues are slowly slowly getting better. graded exersise has been very helpful too. Stay positive and don't give up. I know how tough and depressing this whole thing is. I was in such prime shape before this disaster happened but i need to look forward. The mind/body connection is a powerful thing.

Hi Susan.. Let me first say, I havnt used antibiotics for over 20 yrs but I got caught short away. I have always used botanical herbs because let's face it, that's where medicine originates from..
Ok do the water flush.... Drink 1 whole pint of water and leave it in your bladder for 30 minutes. Don't go to the loo during that 30 mins..... After 30 mins you drink a second pint... Once you've drank your 2nd pint then go for your life... This can be done several times a day if required... This is much beneficial for flushing toxins out quickly and safely...........

Susan... P.S... I've used herbs for 30 years and I suffer from a weak adrenal gland on my left side. Restless legs is very linked TO adrenal fatigue and these meds hit your adrenals HARD... Hence anxiety and poor sleep... Help yourself along and get some good quality magnesium and take it 2 hours before bed... Try to lay off any stimulants like sugars and caffeine..... Hope this helps...
