Rapamycin is used to prevent organ rejection in transplant patients and no, it is only available by prescription under the brand name Rapamune, according to the FDA. You can also find information on it under the name Sirolimus. It's typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomatitis.
Given that has also been known to cause some types of cancer, in some people that take it, I am not sure if a doctor would prescribe it for you.
I am, however, very sorry about your diagnosis. What medications have been recommended for you?
