I moved to Florida and had to detox off of oxycodone and methadone. Itwas horrendous. I have 3 different liver diseases, fibromyagia, arthritis and raynauds. Where is the compassion in this horrible state. I live in bed now. I used to have a life now I am a waste of space and a burden to others.

@sbsierr Well lets go back into your postings.. First you talk about getting high and you never had any surgeries.. Now all the sudden you have LOL... Lets put it this way you are junkie con artist that cant get into nowhere but the methadone clinic.. And anyone with half a brain can see your con. You can not get into a PM office.. Or it would had already transpired.. You know you need to get a ref from a GP and you can not even con them to do it..I think another person said for you to leave Ky and I agree with that. You are one of many reasons why things got changed here..

Jackie having surgery does not qualify you for pain meds. Your MRI"S and
medical records is what they go by. Especially now when they may need your records when/if they get raided. I have never been turned down by any PM before or after having surgery on my neck.

@sbsierr @ Howard
Quote from sbsierr You do not have to had surgery in order to qualify for pain meds. No one in KY or TN will touch me.
Has not had no surgeries hence why he gets no treatments.... Right from the horses mouth...They just do not seem to get it do they....

Howard, your medical records are no longer private. The fed gov. took care of that, it is now put on the computer for all to see. Next time you go to the ER or fill a RX read the new laws on privacy. My PM holds groups in his waiting room. Anyone who comes in the door will get a ear full. There is NO PRIVACY any more.
You do not have to had surgery in order to qualify for pain meds. No one in KY or TN will touch me.
You may need to move out of KY at some point in order to get your pain needs meet. My old pmin KY is sending his pain pt. for pain pumps in TN.

@Howard2723 Ya I know where you are coming from when you have one failed surgery they do not want to touch you again. I take it you are looking in Ky and to be bluntly honest.. The health and human services dictates how much is prescribed now due to passed legislation. I would go and see the Pm the Neuro referred. You are not going to find no super Pm Dr's in Ky anymore. You meet the criteria for getting prescriptions due to your surgery..No surgeries no PM Dr will even want to see you at this time. You have a good case at least not like so many I seen getting discharged with no surgeries in their records..

Mike, I will not ask the name of the the clinic that cut you off your morphine. But can you tell me where in KY they are located PLEASE??. I can take it from there, what sort of dose were you on? I was on Morphine when I refused to sign a BLANK release form for steroid injections. After I submitted medical records proven I had adverse reactions to injections. Which is illegal by the way & 3 weeks later the doctor was shut down. I have been on methadone since and it does not work for me, my quality of life is severely reduced and the pain has skyrocketed.
Thanks for any help you are willing to give me. Sorry for your problems, pill counts are a pain in the a$$ and not needed. They do nothing but harass the pt.

Is there anyone left in this forum that can answer any of my earlier posted questions I asked recently or did my AOL account decide to wreck my entire post and not list anything? I wanted to know any good and bad information/experience about the PM clinic off of Pasadena in Lexington. I was in the emergency room from yet another of many, many "jello leg" falls early into the morning of my initial scheduled intake appointment so I had to reschedule and they have me scheduled to come in for the pre-evaluation group session appointment at the end of the month and it specifically states I will not be meeting with a physician or receiving any pain medications at that visit but may meet with a NP for initial work up to speed up the Pain Doctor appt. I am not understanding what this group session is meant for as I have severe panic disorder and being surrounded by a group of strangers is one of my top triggers, I have never heard of a group evaluation session, does anyone know how this works? I thought medical information was kept private between you and the medical staff so how is it possible to be evaluated and be open in a room full of strangers that will most likely cause me severe enough panic to vomit in front of all of them, sad but true. Anyone know the average wait time frame to get an appt to see the Pain Doctor there? I mentioned in my previous post under this very same nickname my current med regimen and also my lack of knowledge on what most of the diagnoses and some of the terminology meant, insight on any of that would be helpful as well. Even on my current medications my pain level is a consistant level 8 average. Is this a PM location that actually cares and will medicate accordingly? I would assume with all of my documented diagnoses it would be proof positive that 10mg/325mg of percocet every 4 hours just is not going to cut it, I would have better luck with a plastic butterknife cutting through this kind of chronic pain. I will NOT take morphine, EVER, a PM doc killed my Mom in Ohio last year with it, tox combo with the other meds they had her on and no she was not overtaking, she never failed a count or a urine sample always taken as prescribed. Will they also treat my panic disorder with meds? I was on Xanax for years before coming here now my primary is trying everything but that which has never been effective and my psych will treat my orher conditions but refuses to treat my panic disorder with medication claiming I am taking way too high of a dose of an opiate, wow as if it even works. Will they adjust my meds to a therapeutic regimen that will be more helpful and if so what are the ideas on what options they might suggest? Or is there anything I should request to try based on my conditions I listed and/or your personal experiences? I used to take Lyrica and Lidoderm patches as well and came off of both because neither had any effect whatsoever. I feel no effect from the Neurontin currently either, never really did. Please respond if you have any idea or answers or suggestions, including on what my diagnoses/condtions mean in your average bear understanding. Thank you anyone!

I pretty much dismissed my pain doctor. I haven't been kicked out yet and hope to never get kicked out. I will continue to dismissed them as long as they are not taking care of me the way I feel they should. I have been going thru this pain for 12 years come August 23rd this year. I've been thru every therapy, injections, and medications they could give me in which none of them have worked except the oxycodone.

I get up at 6, 630 every morning and I take 90 mg of oxycodone. I go all day without taking anymore until about 8 pm; then I take another 30 to go to sleep on and Im good all day with just that regimen. The doctors wont listen, they give me 5 mg oxycodone tablets and tell me to take one every 8 hours; PLEASE....!! spare me. Those pills are gone in a heartbeat. Hell.....I know what work for me and I feel these fricken doctors should listen to their patients. No one wants to be in pain taking one 5 mg oxycodone every 8 hours. I could see if I was new the pain game; lol but I'm not

Well today was a bad day for me. I went to an internal medicine doctor this morning trying to get him to take over all my medication management for chronic pain, acid reflux, anxiety/depression, etc. He told me he doesn't prescribe pain medication for pain for his patients. At first I felt he didn't understand what I was asking of him, but he surely did and was looking on the new ohio system about my history; but didn't tell me.

I told his assistant what he said about not prescribing pain medication and she rolled her eyes in the back of her head like "yeah Right" and told me that he does prescribe pain medication. I assumed he did because his office take walk-ins, cash payments, and there were tones of people sitting in his office and outside waiting to be seen by him.

Bottom line, he told me I would have a hard time finding a doctor who would prescribe my medication personally. Well I found out why. I have had 5 different doctors prescribe my medication in the last six months and that is a flag right there. Even though I have had 3 of the doctors for many years, I guess it doesn't matter you still have to have one doctor priscribe you pain meds. I didn't know it was a big deal because neither fill the medication at the same time.

Here is the deal: Since 2001 I have been in pain from an accident that wasn't my fault and then again in 2005; both times the person ran the stop sign and hit me. I have suffered back, migraine neck, shoulder, hip, ankle and foot pain all on the left side. Currently suffering the other shoulder pain too. I just had left shoulder surgery in June, 2013, March, 2013 a bone removed from my baby toe - L. Each area I mentioned has it's own tare; basically something wrong with it. I suffer from osteoarthritis and I am in pain on a daily basis.

Because I had so many doctors write my pain medication I have been flagged and no doctor will write my prescriptions at all, hell I can't even get them to write my reflux medication, or anxiety/depression medication. First I had my regular doctor write a prescription, then my foot doctor wrote them 3xs due to removing a bone from my baby toe, then my new pain doctor to whom I dismissed because my primary told me to due to my shoulder surgery coming up; he wrote my prescriptions for 2 months before I dismissed him, and in the end my shoulder surgery (ortho) doctor wrote my prescriptions after surger and told me he would not write me anymore prescriptions and I had to get my primary or a pain doctor to write them; which I didn't have a pain doctor anymore. So, everybody refuse to write my prescriptions. Im like " dude even tho you put nearly 9 holes in my shoulder you will let me suffer" he just said he wasnt going to write them anymore.

I haven't had therapy for my shoulder yet, everyone has left me hanging with no pain medication and it has been since June13 and all I got was 40-5 mg oxycodone 325's and 30 oxycontin 20's. I told the surgeon that the oxycodone 5's did not work for me and he said because I am a chronic pain patient he would not write anything else. So, guess what? I am in so much pain it's not funny,. I use to get 6-30mg oxycodone tabs a day for my chronic pain and now I get nothing even tho I just had rotator cuff surgery close to a month ago. I don't know how they expect me to go thru therapy with my shoulder without pain medicationl. I don't see a pain doctor until July 22 which as everyone can tell is 2 weeks away. If they cut me off my pain medication I will loose my mind. I have too many ailments going on with my body to just not get anything.

Thanks to the DEA and their dispecable laws we as pain patients have to suffer thru this. I never thought that just because I had surgery by two different doctors only one could write my presciption. It all dosen't make sense to me how does one doctor know what the other is doing and how is it that when you have to go to different doctors for the many things wrong with you that you are able to get one doctor to write the prescription? He may not want to write them for what another doctor as done.

I all doesn't make sense DEA. I can't get my body taken care of because you think I'm doctor shopping, but I know that's not the case. I have been suffering with pain in all different areas of my body for many years and the older I get the worse it feels. I'm no different from a diabetic, heart , or any other patient that has some kind of desease and need medication for it. I don't know what I'm going to do.

I am looking for info on the Pain center located on Pasadena in Lex, good and bad experience. My neurosurgeon from UK is referring me to their center for PM. I have a 2+ hour evaluation appt apparently before being sent to the medication management side. I have Fibromyalgia, DDD, Level 3 Cervical Fusion in January, in Ohio, WORST experience ever, discharged 19 hours post op and surgery has been deemed a failure. Nerve root damage in lumbar, fractures @ L3 and L2. Repeated MRI's on cervical and lumbar only. Thoracic CT scan states nonspecific ill-defined slerotic lesion involving left aspect of T1 vertabral body, which I have no clue what that means. Spinal canal Stenosis in thoracic and cervical spine in multiple levels. Bone spurs never removed, diffusely bulging disks throughout lumbar. narrowing due to bulging disk and spurring contacting the left L5 nerve root, degenerative endplate changes, neural foraminal narrowing, annual fissures and disc protrusion, fluid at facet joints. Bulging disk @ T10/T11 contacting the ventral spinal cord. Think that about covers it, sorry my AOL messes up as I try to type in anything so I'm sure something has been missed. I honestly do not know what any of the above issues/diagnoses even mean. I am 18 yrs post auto accident and it has just gotten worse. I lose sensation in my left side of my body way too often and I do not know why. I am 35 using a walker when it is bad or a cane when I am not so unstable. I have to wear a back brace due to the fractures. My neurosurgeon at UK is a conservative type and states he will not perform another surgery unless he feels it is going to be a positive outcome and only working option due to the failed fusion. I have had epidurals, blocks, you name it in the past 4 years including biweekly physical therapy. My PCP currently prescribes percocet 10, 6 per day, Neurontin 300mg 3x and Soma 350 4x. I take valium as well due to severe panic disorder and I can honestly state my quality of life is just nonexistant at this point. My current med regimen is not much help at all, still chronic daily pain, still loss of sensation in left side causing multiple falls. I know nothing about these diagnoses as I said and I do not know my options and I do not know what to expect with the PM referral to Pasadena Rd. ANY input would be so helpful and a God send. Sorry I went overboard with all the info, I just wanted to ensure it is out there that I am not a seeking addict and I just want to live for myself and my children like a normal 35 year old Mom!!

@Deb You are correct when you see your PM wanting to cut you back again. that is a good sign that more political Bs is coming.. When the news media splashes it all over the 6 and 11 o clock news then you know its going to get worse. Back in the early 1900s when many of the drug laws was put in place. Our federal gov jailed Dr's and patients for being addicts and for writing narcotic scripts by the 1000s. It is sad that the Gov has the right to tell a person what they can do with their own body. From consuming substances to abortion.I am disabled but I still work with addicts at one of the methadone clinics. During the Nixon era he wanted to retal against protesters and many of them did drugs so he approved the new drug enforcement agency DEA.. And of course they are going to do stuff to keep their jobs...I love KY but even I have thought it might even be time to leave because of new policies and the fact this state gets my tax dollars from everything I buy Ect ect and I am supporting the A$$ES to do harm to me and others.. What can we do we are in a terrible situation..

@Bobby1 you are so on the money with all you've said. It's pretty obvious our governor or anyone close to him has not had chronic pain. Like you, I'm thankful I have a great GP and PM doctor(s) and the proof to back up my pain but I know bc of the new laws my meds will eventually be cut back again

@kachel23 Thats no problem but all the major health providers have a PM group. it is hard to get into them without a GP referral. Nortons is the one I have dealt with for a while they did my op's I see their neuros ect ect. The primary Dr that you have is obviously likes you and see's that you need more than he can offer. That's a plus to have a GP in your corner. He knows who is good from other patients he referrers over. The bad thing is about all this you have someone who is not a Dr dictating to the PM's how much to write and what to write.. Health and human services is the demon behind all of this.I do not get as much as I used to but I get enough for now.. If I have to cut back well then I have to. It just means I wont do the work program anymore..
