I know this is a question most will ignore and I compleatly understand. I am in the S.E. Texas area and need a new Dr. to prescribe methadone. I have been off and on methadone for approx. 20 years but due to my job I am unable to attend a clinic. Any advise or comments are welcome but don't be mean due to what I know is a hard question tio get answered.

About 3 years I was working on a telephone tower and I fell 15 feet to the ground. I severely hurt my legs. My dr. prescribed me percocets for a few months, but then stopped me on them because he felt I should be better and doesn't believe in long term pain management. Well I continually bring to his attention the severe pain i have from my prior injury and he tells me that there is nothing he can do about it. I have been referred to another dr. by some friends, whom I go see in a few days. I really would like his help with pain management. What do you do when your tolerance builds up to Suboxone? I am on 16 mg a day and it is not keeping me from wanting to use. Should i ask my doctor to up my dosage, or should I ask about a different drug? Need any answer, this subject is no where on the internet. ## Suboxone is not actually meant to do away with the cravings that result from an addictive personality and drug abuse. It is meant to help prevent withdrawals by helping you taper off your addiction to other medications, it will not help with the associated mental issues of craving them. There may be something else you can use to help with that, I am not sure, you really need to discuss it with your doctor. You should know that it is dangerous to use without a doctor's supervision. That said, with that low of a dosage and non-frequent use, it should be out of your system in 48 to 72 hours.
