What is an orange capsule that was prescribed for pain a lot of years ago that on says on the paper seal to take for pain every 2 hours until pain is relieved

Heidi, are there any markings on it? What I am about to post for the original poster might not apply, depending on how old your capsule is, where it was found, and etc.

The U.S. FDA requires all manufactured tablets and capsules to have unique markings on them to enable their identification. Those that do not have markings are most likely over the counter products. Though there is also a chance they were specially made by a compounding pharmacy, there is also a small chance they could be a foreign medication.
