Lisinopril Hctz Assistance Advice Needed
(Newest replies first)
Updated
I'm out of work - my health insurance ran out and I
I have been taking Lisin/Hctz 20+25.
Does anyone know of a company or a clinic that will give me break - I found something on line but they won't identify themselves so I'm afraid to use them.
Does anyone know of a similar drug that is cheaper - maybe I can have my doctor prescribe it - my doctor won't help me research it. Thanks. Or maybe a manufacturer that would give me a break ??

does anyone know if there is a program for Seniors that don't have insurance, that need their Lisinop/HCTZ 20/12.. who can't afford them.
I take prinzide which is a lisinopril/HCTZ mix. I take 10/12.5 I know that it is on the Walmart $4.00 list. I don't know if it's different for different strengths but it doesn't hurt to check....
If you join the Walgreen drug program for $20.00 a year you can buy a 90 day supple of Lisinipril HCTZ in any dosage for only $ 12.00 for the three months supply. Target and Wal Mart also offer this medication for about $4.00 a month, and you don't have to join their program
The name brand for this would be Zestoretic and it is manufactured by AstraZeneca, which actually means good news for you.
They have an excellent assistance program for people that use their medications, it's called the AZ & Me program, it's specifically for people with lower incomes and no insurance.
Your doctor's office can print the forms, provide a prescription and then fax them in and you will be notified of what assistance you qualify to receive. It's a sliding fee scale. I use their program for the Atacand that I am on, because there is no generic and it is very expensive. I receive mine free, based on my income and having no insurance.
You can get more information on how to apply and see if you qualify on their website, astrazeneca-us.com

They are very fast at reviewing applications and sending your medications, which are sent right to you by postal mail.
When I applied and my doctor faxed the form, with the prescription, I only had a very small supply left of a sample they had given me, but I received notice of my approval within 2 days. They said they were shipping the medication and it was here on the third day!
Is there anything else I can help with?
Just a note for anyone that may be looking for help, since I've been there and know how it is, always find out what the name brand is, for whatever you are taking and who the manufacturer of it is and then do a search on Google for their website. Most of them do offer programs for people that don't have insurance.
