Is Orange Subutex Available?
UpdatedDo they make an orange Subutex? Is that available?
I just got my script filled this month for subutex. I used to get the white tablet with an arrow and 8 on each side. Today I got 8mg Orange oblonged shaped with 153 and a moon on it. They are pretty big compared to what I was getting. Same thing except they just don't dissolve as quickly and have a different taste. So apparently they do make orange ones, just found out today.
Just for added confirmation - yes, it is true that they do make an orange oblong/oval generic 8mg Subutex (Buprenorphine hydrochloride) sublingual tablet with 153 on one side and the Actavis' half moon logo on the other.
This tablet also contains the following set of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), which may be different than what you might've been used to taking from previous manufacturers:
citric acid anhydrous + crospovidone + FD & C yellow #6 HT aluminum lake + lactose monohydrate + magnesium stearate + mannitol + pregelatinized starch (maize) + povidone + sodium citrate dihydrate
I don't know about your situation, but sometimes when patients switch between different tablets they may get a completely different set of binders and fillers that affect how well or how much of a particular medication is absorbed/metabolized by the body. Its cases like this where you might build a personal preference as to which brand/generic works best for you.
Hope this helps!
Can you post a picture of them if you can. Thanks!

I have just received the same orange 8 mg 153 Subutex from MFG Actavis Elizabeth...I haven't taken any yet becaus I am not sure what to expect as far as changes, I have been taking the MFG Hi-Tech 8 mg Subutex for a year and a half. Des anyone have any experience taking the new Actavis 8 mg Subutex switching from other brands...
Not to my knowledge. The only orange, round Buprenorphine SL tablets I have ever seen are Suboxone. The only Orange Subutex that I have only seen are the orange oval ones made by Actavis.
Are any of you located in Washington Pa area, i need a pharmacy to fill my subutex script. everyone i have went to says they cant take any more patients
I've been getting subs for a long time now but I've always gotten the real small ones with the 8 on one side or the big round white ones, well yesterday I went to the clinic and went to pick my med up at the pharmacy and they have me these football shaped light orange pills with a 153 on one side and a pretty D on the other, I am so upset these taste awful while others have a sweet taste. And they are so big, I can't believe I'm stuck with 2 weeks worth of these things and the worst part is I really can't take them when I try I throw up because I'm pregnant and I already have severe morning sickness so when I try to take them it makes it 10 times worse!!!
I would either try going to a different pharmacy or ask the pharmacist why they made the switch. I agree these orange subutex are disgusting! They're similar to suboxone which again is disgusting! Especially since you are pregnant though I would ask to be switched! We're really trying to change the way subutex is seen during pregnancy. It's absolutely so much safer than methadone and has no side effects.
Yes and they're god awful IMO. I've been on subutex since August 2010. I've tried just about every brand of subutex out there, and these by far are the worst! Right behind the Hitech brand (the small ones). I prefer the TEVA ones. Unfortunately, they seem to be next to impossible to get anymore. So for the past year I've gotten the Roxane's (5411's). It was just by accident that I got the Activis orange ones that you speak of last month. I about had a total meltdown because of it.
I go to a dr in Connellsville and its hard as s*** trying to find a pharmacy around this place anymore
I just got prescribed these, I have gone to two pharmacies and both times they've stuck me with these nasty things. They serve the purpose; but barely. I'm used to the roxanna as well. I'm pregnant and these make me feel terrible. I hope there's a way or me to switch back! 500$ for every appointment I better be able to.
I live in Wheeling WV its close
Anyone think if I go back to my doc with a sealed bottle, cause they came in that stupid bottle that's pre counted at manufacturing, yet it still takes an hour for Walgreen's to fill, anyway think there's any chance I could ask him to re right thirty of them, I opened the other bottle cause I had no clue..probably breaking rules to do that..but what's the point when I can't take them, I know there's a bunch of people like me I take subutex for a reason , it's small, easy to dissolve , now Iv got a giant pill that will never dissolve and tastes awful, Iv had to spit out three of them already to stop dryheaving
IN REGARDS TO SIDE EFFECTS FROM ACTAVIST BRAND SUBUTEX, CONTACT THE FDA @1-800-FDA-1038. I CONTACTED THEM AND ADVISED THEM OF MY SIDE EFFECTS LAST MONTH WHEN I GOT STUCK WITH THOSE INFERIOR SUBUTEX. THOSE ORANGE 153 SUBUTEX GAVE ME COLD CHILLS AND GENERAL FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS. IT MADE ME THINK THEY HAD NALOXONE IN THEM. I AM ALLERGIC TO NALOXONE IT MAKES ME SICK AND I HAVE LIVER ISSUES. I HATE THAT ALL THE PHARMACIES ARE ORDERING THIS BRAND NOW. I HAVE HAD A HARD TIME FINDING A NEW PHARMACY AND HAVE BEEN EMAILING CVS REQUESTING THAT THEY START ORDERING SUBUTEX BECAUSE THE CVS'S IN MY AREA DON'T EVEN CARRY THE MEDICATION WHICH IS WRONG. WALMART ALSO REFUSED TO FILL FOR ME. NOW EVERYTIME I GET A SURVEY FROM WALMART I GIVE THE PHARMACY SECTION THE LOWEST SCORE AND LEAVE COMMENTS REQUESTING THAT THEY START ORDERING THE MEDICATION. IN THIS DAY AND AGE YOU WOULD THINK THAT THE PHARMACIES WOULD ORDER THE MEDICATION BUT THEY DON'T BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH JUNKIES.
I hate the football orange im pregnant n its like im withdrawal from them startIng in the middle of day im up all night s uck i like the white moon one's
Ya so u answered your own question bravo.d not get these ?????? Easy as pie and I'm not a junkie they are just common sense
Hi people, I've got these bupes yesterday but they're orange and don't say 153 anywhere so was hoping somebody could please help me in identifying weather they are just Subutex or suboxone. I have a pic but am petrified of taking them and getting pw
Just got orange subtext by Activist at Walgreen's. They are horrible. The pill won't dissolve under the tongue and the taste is bad. Hopefully Dr will retire so I can get better brand.

Re: KRYSTIE (# 17)
The white moon pills are Suboxone. Not the best thing to take while pregnant. There are plenty of Generic subutex to ask for if you don't like that one. But they might be far more expensive.
Re: BUBBA (# 16)
That's not always the case. I know a lot of Pharmacies stopped carrying it because they were threatened by the DEA. They had started to arrest Pharmacy owners and close them down just for carrying Subutex.
Re: BUBBA (# 16)
I mean they get whatever brands are available unless you want a really expensive generic or brand name. But yeah, these also gave me headaches and made me feel kinda bad. Nowhere near how Naloxone treats me though.
Re: Paige (# 13)
You can call ahead and if you're a regular patient they will try to order a specific brand. But with the shortages lately you'll have to see if they can get them or not.
Re: TabbieCat (# 11)
Roxanne doesn't make 54/411 anymore. They have been sold twice over to different pharma companies. The Teva ones aren't horrible but they give me a headache.
Re: TJ (# 7)
Yeah, I hate those actavis ones. They give me a headache and apparently the pharmacy has a lot of those complaints. But still better than the small white Arrow ones from Accord/Hi-Tech.
Re: manda (# 6)
No, but they do make Orange suboxone that are round. Like the imprint 54/345
Re: Tony Greg (# 1)
So, your pharmacy randomly gave you suboxone instead of subutex? That's sketch especially for people like me that are allergic.
The orange Subutex are making me itch something awful Has anyone else had this problem?
