Is Amox Tr-k Clv 600-42.9/5 Suspension Safe For An Infant?

My 7 month old was prescribed amox tr-K 600-42.9/5 suspension for an ear infection. I saw it had potassium and aspartame in it. I was also told to give my 7 month old Culturelle along with this which also has mannitol in it. Are these meds safe for a 7 month old and anything I should watch out for?

It is far, far more dangerous to let the infection continue out of control, that can cause severe pain for your child and, if it went to far, it could cause sepsis and death.

This is an antibiotic and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. The aspartame is just added to try to make it taste better for children, otherwise, it tastes horrible.

Culturelle is a probiotic to help keep the good bacteria in their body from all being negatively affected by the antibiotic. The mannitol is also used for flavor.

The important things to watch for would the signs of an allergic reaction, such as trouble breathing, swelling and hives.
