Imitrex Side Effects/how To Properly Use Nasal Spray

Hello,
Just started on imitrex nasal spray 2 days ago, had to use 2nd dose at exactly the 2 hour mark the first night ('alarm clock headache' at 5am). Used it tonight and an hour later vomited, felt a little better, but still have lingering headache. Is this all normal? As it is the weekend, cannot verify with my PMD, and just want to make sure I am taking it properly - should I be lying down, head upright? Any better way of administration? And is it ok that I am taking advil/excedrin migraine along with it when I feel it is not working?

Hello, Kimg! How are you?

Unless you've been specifically instructed otherwise, such sprays should always be used while sitting or standing upright.

The nausea, vomiting and mild headache can all be side effects of Imitrex, along with dizziness, a spinning sensation and warmth or tingling under your skin. Most side effects will wear off after about 4 weeks, or so, once your body gets used to the medication.

And I didn't find any interactions listed between it and Advil or Excedrin Migraine but you should always double check such information to be sure.

Are there any other questions or concerns?
