I found a blue pill that has I3 on it in my regular equate ibuprofen. What is it and why? This isn't the first time this has happened. ## Hello, Wonderer! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Amneal Pharmaceuticals, it is another over the counter product that they list as containing 220mgs of Naproxen. It is a generic or store brand of Aleve. The FDA classifies this medication as being a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. They are most likely packaged at the same plant, most of them commonly package several different over the counter medications and one from a prior batch got mixed in. Is there anything else I can help with?

I took 1 30 mg oxycotin and felt better within the hr. How many 800 mg ibuprofen would equal 1 30 mg oxycotin?? ## I'm very sorry that you're in pain. However, the answer is none! These medications are not even comparable. Oxycodone is classified by the FDA as an opiate analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and is very potent. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. However, Ibuprofen is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. You cannot safely double up or triple up on the Ibuprofen, because that may result in overdose toxicity. If you require so...

Found pills that are oval shaped that are marked with 136, they are bluish / green close to the same color as Nyquil, maybe a little lighter. lettering is white printed on one side only. No other markings, does anyone know what they may be? Thanks for any help at all. ## Given this description, I am inclined to suspect that they are something that's available over the counter. That would also explain why I've been unable to find it listed in any databases. Does anyone recognize these? I'll keep looking and post back, when I have information for you. There are some 200mg Ibuprofen liquid gels available as generics for Advil or Motrin, so this might be one of those. The FDA classifies it as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its...

Ibuprofen -44 stands for over counter medication So 44 332 is ibuprofen 800mg ## Hello, Rodney! How are you? Yes, this is an over the counter product, however, I am unable to confirm what it contains, since they are not required to be listed with the FDA. However, if it is Ibuprofen, it would not be an 800mg tablet, since that is only available by prescription. The maximum dose available over the counter is 200mgs. The FDA classifies this medication as being a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Can anyone confirm what this tablet contains?

Can u take two 800mg ip466 at once? Serious toothache and one pill isn't working! Will it hurt my child since I'm breast feeding ## Hi Relly, Unfortunately, the maximum amount of Ibuprofen for adults is 800 mgs per dose or 3200 mgs per day (equivalent to 4 maximum doses), depending on each individuals response and tolerance. So you'd essentially only be able to take one of those "IP 466" pills at a time (4x daily). If I could recommend something else that may be more effective for your toothache, it would probably be pure vanilla extract and/or clove essential oil. I've used both before and they helped num any sort of pain I had and also alleviated some discomfort. Both of those options contain powerful antibacterial properties (unlike Ibuprofen) that are really ...

Can I take these with diclac 75mg? ## Hi, Gav! How are you? No, you shouldn't take both of them. The Ibuprofen in the Melfen and the Diclofenac in the Diclac are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, so essentially you'd be doubling up on the same thing. To help with any possible pain, fever or swelling, only one of them is needed. Learn more Diclac details here. Learn more Melfen details here. Which one has your doctor advised you to take? ## Is difeen the same as melfen

The pain is like a knife in my chest it comes and go and has been going on over a week ## dave costochondritis is an inflammation between the ribs that causes extreme pain, similar to a fractured rib, hurts to breathe cough and move, can be like a catch in your side, it can come and go, you use anti inflamatories for it like ibuprofen/motrin or alleve/naproxen. even though its been days you cant rule out your heart, it would be best to see your doctor.

I found a Burke if red pills they are round with no markings in either side was winding what they were ## Are they coated pills? If the red is due to a coating and there are no markings, then I'm inclined to suspect that they are over the counter 200mg Ibuprofen tablets, since there are several available that match this description. The FDA lists it as being an NSAID that is most commonly used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Can you please post back and let me know? Thanks!

I have an abscess .would it reduce the pain and swelling. ## Hi shazavier, Sorry to hear about your tooth abscess. From what I could gather, the red pill you're describing marked 44 291, contains 200mgs of Ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug marketed for its use in treating mild pain and inflammation (swelling). So in my opinion, I don't see why it wouldn't be beneficial for such cases. However if you have truly been diagnosed with a tooth infection, this won't necessarily take it away; it will only mask the pain and swelling temporarily. Therefore you may also need to contact a doctor and see about getting prescribed an antibiotic to take along with the Ibuprofen. I hope this helps answer your question!

I have Ibuprofen and it kinda got in a dusty area, so to clean them real quick. I put them in water for two seconds, and they started to get all sticky and rough on the outside. Are they still okay and good? ## Hello, Anthony! How are you? While it's likely that they didn't become dangerous from this occurrence, they may have lost potency and could have become contaminated, so they might make you sick, if you take them. It would likely be best to just dispose of them and obtain new tablets. This is a NSAID, which is used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

Are Ibuprofen 800mg (IP 466) tabs, made by Amneal Pharmaceuticals, prescription only, or can they be bought over-the-counter? I've had several disc herniations for almost 20yrs.Tired of the stigma associated with pain meds, I went off the stronger meds (such as Oxycontin) approximately 2 yrs ago. I've tried large doses of Motrin, which was getting expensive, and eventually tried the Ibuprofen 800mg tabs. They've worked for me (1 tab twice daily) but I'm almost out and would like to use them regularly. They're a lot less expensive than Motrin or other brand names. Please, advice? Thanks! ## Hello, NeedAdvice! How are you? That dosage is only available by prescription. The reason for that is due to the fact that there are some risks associated with long-term use of hig...

It's a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory sold over the counter to treat pain, fever and swelling. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation and increase risk of bleeding.

Ok so I had gotten a fever one morning and the day before I felt really drained of energy. then I got some little white sores on my tongue and my gums had become swollen and extremely sensitive, so much that i hurt to brush me teeth and to even eat. i went to the clinic to see what is wrong, i was tested for strep and mono but both tests came back negative. the doctor said it was just viral and to just take ibuprofen or Tylenol for the pain. well it had gotten worse so i went back and the new doctors said that i had the virus herpes simplex but did not say specifically which one. anyways she gave me a prescription on acyclovir to take for 10 days. the medication worked but now i noticed that my gums above my wisdom teeth are still very swollen and have a sort of flap on them. could all ...

My friend is 160lb and she took 4000mg of ibprofen. Should she go to a hospital? ## 4000mg, as in 20 of the standard OTC pills?! Overdose is possible, although unlikely at doses under 100 mg per kg of body weight - keep an eye out for some of the symptoms of Ibuprofen overdose such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, ringing in the ears, and twitchy eye movement. If you suspect that she has overdosed call your the emergency number (such as 911) or 1-800-222-1222 for a local poison control center. Do not wait to take action if she seems to be in danger! Better safe than sorry! At least call poison control and report to them what's going on. Hope this helps and good luck! References: Ibuprofen Wiki Details Medline Plus: Ibuprofen Overdose
