Hello, AK! How are you?
Has your doctor instructed you to take it?
In some cases, swollen glands can be caused by some type of systemic infection that your body is fighting, so an antibiotic may be appropriate.
However, if they're swollen due to a virus, such as the cold or flu, then an antibiotic will not help. It will also not help, if they are swollen due to allergies.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
I have 5 or 6 swollen glands under my armpits they are under the skin and very sore to touch. I have a full prescription of cephalexin can it treat these symptoms?
