Is Methadone completely out of your system in 72 hours, or does it take longer? Since Methadone seems to last longer that 4 - 6 hours, I was just wondering?

I took a 10mg methadone on Monday and I got a urine test on friday..will that methadone be out of my system by Friday morning. .it will be 4 days Friday since I took it...Please help me with some information please

U have to go down slow.if I u stop cold turkey the first 3-4days u will feel fine.but then all hell kicks in tapper all the way down to 1mg if possible.good luck in u can go to the doctor to get meds like coladpins for therestless feet n thy can give u nausea/vomiting meds thn u will feel cool Good Luck ok!

I learned some tricks while illing. When u get the stomach pains hot bath water is the s***, I damn near lived in there. definitely drink gateraide it has electrolytes that keeps you hydrated I craved water but it wasn't anuff because my body was puking every thing up. Once I went to the Dr on the 11th day for some fluids,coladopin fr the rest less legs,coladine fr nausea vomiting, and another one to help with the with draw symptoms!!!I am on my 13th day I feel a 91% better I still need to pass my food more nourmaly!! hope this helps some one!!!!

Go to the doc in let them no u need help because some times u get so dehydrated that u need help!!!are it will take longer!!good luck and feel better

That is very true its been since June 11th 2014 and we are in July and my body still is haven symptoms...I am stauen drug free though because I would never want to give that control back!!!to any one out there trying to stop take it one day at a time!!!and don't compare it self to any ones situation every ones different!! Keep your faith up and stay strong...YOU CAN DO IT I BELEAVE IN YOU...if u don't have to get on methodon dont ....Good Luck And Don't Give Up!!!

Ur so full of s***, if ur a one time user, it's out of ur system in 3 to 4 days. No months., no weeks. If ur going to give people advice, do just that. Stop trying to scare people.

Longer some times it depends on the dosege n how long u hve ben taken it...the longer u hve taken it the more it lingers in ur system..bt its like a week i herd frm my old clinic and it also depends on the place u go to and how high tec there testing system is...i jst qwite methodone in june so my info is frm wht i went through....good luck.

I dnt no if ur post was to me...but i was speeking on my experiences..n yeah coming out ur system yeah a couple of days..But I Illed fr way more thn tht.My body was off until the end of July restless feet n all... In if u post was not to me than I apologize. But if so I am far frm a doctor and so is evry one else on here...i send words of encouragement to stay off of Drugs Not to stay on them...But any person who has ben on herion nos tht methodon us the worst s*** to b on it has way mre side effects.....HAVE A BLESSED DAY...??

Hi Ive been on oral methadone . I am so afraid of withdrawl, it is the devil drug yo me. your told its best for you. so many side effects, REALLY BAD for me. I have nobody who understands this drug, what about that (suboxone) ??? {edited for privacy} got a min; private Info cool.

Hi,
I have been on pain meds for the last 4 years. I know many won't believe this when I give you the very short version of how I came to be on pain killers. 5 years ago I began to experience pain in various muscles in my body. I went to my primary care physician who sent me to a rheumatologist. He did all kinds of tests but couldn't find an answer as to why this was happening. He saw I had a patch of psoriasis on my elbow and decided that I had psoriatic arthritis. Btw all these tests had been going on for at least a year prior to me being placed on pain killers and I had tried everything they wanted me to use under the sun. That was non narcotic which was fine with me as I didn't want to use narcotics and Had never done drugs a day in my life and I was raising my granddaughter who at the time was 2. After having many misdiagnosis it was decided I indeed did have psoriatic arthritis so my doctor placed me on humira and methotrexate. I would have to give myself a shot of humira and methotrexate 1 injection of each daily. After about 1 month of taking these 2 drugs I had the worst reaction anyone could possibly have. I literally ended up laying in my bed sleeping all day and not being able to walk, every muscle in my body was not working properly and I was petrified I'd not walk again. I had a 3 yr old by this time and I couldn't get out of bed to even feed him. I had to have my son who had his own life and lived 150 miles away to drop everything and come stay with me to help take care of his nephew. I went back to my primary care physician and he stopped the humira and methotrexate after 7 months of using it ( I had no idea that was causing the paralysis and excruciating pain it even hurt to have my eyes open) I was then sent to a pain management clinic. BOY if I knew the results of going there were to be like I'd have never gone. As my physician had explained it to me, was that they could do therapies such as ultra sound, possibly a combination of anti inflammatory medications. Never was there a mention of narcotics. After all the other things I had tried I figured it wouldn't hurt to try again I really needed to get better so I could raise my granddaughter. So I went and explained what I had been through, and all the meds I tried and we talked about physical therapy which I was wiling to do but I barely made it to his office with out assistance of my husband and son. I couldn't walk let alone drive to physical therapy. My neck was so stiff I could move my heads. Then he asked me if I had tried opana, and I said no I had never heard of it. So he wrote me a script for 10mg ER's and three 5mg daily of the IR's and I am not lying he never once told me they were narcotics the only thing he told me was if it worked and I could start walking again without assistance and not drive until I know how it affects me. So I got the prescription filled and took the ERs that night and I took 1 instant relief, boy did I feel good!!!! For a person who's never taken narcotics I felt great! By the second dose I was moving again and by the end of the week I was playing with my granddaughter and almost running again. Wow I remember thinking what a miracle drug. I still didn't know it was a narcotic until my next visit to pain management when he started to ask me all kinds of questions and telling me things like: where do you keep your medication? Does anyone in your family take narcotics etc. I asked him why he was asking me these questions and he said it was because people steal meds like these and he explained these are really strong narcotics and people with drug problems will steal them which is how I found out my daughter was addicted to HERION. Anyways this drug has ruined my life. One day I decided to go off of it as I like everyone else who dreams of the day to be in recovery as I am now addicted and a slave to this tiny round pill. I have lost everything my house, friends, and myself in this addiction. I wish before a doctor puts anyone on these horrible pills. That they be required to use them for a full 30 days to see what it's like to try to get off them. To feel the rebound pain, the throwing up and all the lovely things that goes along with withdrawal. I was once a decent person who didn't lie, steal or do the things I have done since I've started this drug. I am ashamed of myself and have found myself in a terrible depression just because I want to get off of them. I've found myself seeking drugs when I run low or out and have even found myself lying to friends who know I am on these. They really do steal your life and you become a blurred version of your old self. I do have a question though but I wanted to share part of my story with you all in case someone is thinking about getting on or doing opiates, please don't. Find other methods or your life will change drastically and your only friend will be this drug. It Has taken so many lives with either death or changing a person to the point of the only thing you can think of all day and night is your next pill, shot or dose of whatever you are taking. I hope everyone who wants to get off does and can before it takes your life. My question is, I just tried methadone for the first time ever. 3 days in a row of 30mg per day. How long will it stay in my system? I have a job drug test that apparently is a top of the line test. I was told they even test for subs as my friend works at the lab where the test at. So I have to do a drug test on Sept 8th 2014 and I took it Aug 8th, 9th and 10th. Will it still be in my system then or should I look for another job :( Thanks for any help. BTW when I started taking my meds I started out on 15 instant relief daily and 2 -10 ER's a day, now I am on 6-5 IR's and 2- 20 ER 's. Sorry this was so long, but I hope this helps anyone seeking info about taking these or not. I used to think when I'd see a tv show with addicts that could never happen to me, well I was wrong it did.

So true. Worst days of my life were spent kicking methadone, I did almost two years in prison, I spent a lot of that two years just thanking god I wasn't coming off methadone. glad ur clean, I just had a two month spout with herion and now im on suboxone.

Ask for a blood test you should pass that say the urine test must have gotten switch its a shot. Good Luck

Have script for oxyconti 10 mg also oxycodne 30mg did not want to take 30mg oxycodone would keep me awake. Been actively looking for work no bites. Now this am I get call to come in today or tommrow asap will get urine test. I have taken last methadone on Sun night what should I say or do Im not an addict need meds for lupus arthritis not for a high. Now what? When can I pee clean of metthadone probabaly had total of 8 in the ladt month.
