False Negative On Suboxone Drug Test (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have been taking suboxone for almost 4 years and lately it has NOT been showing up on my urine drug test. I take the medication EXACTLY as prescribed. This medication has saved my life and the lives of my family. However, when I take my urine test once monthly at my doctors office the test is showing NO suboxone in my system!! WHY is this happening??? My doctor thinks that I am either selling my meds or just not taking them and has told me he cannot give me the suboxone if this continues to happen. All of internet searches are asking how to not have suboxone show up on drug tests and my question is just the opposite. If I do not find an answer my doctor is going to take me off the suboxone and I am scared to death that I will go back to being dependent on Lortab and other pain meds. Please help me ASAP??

I just had the same thing happen to me. For 2 weeks in a row. And I think he thinks im lying. Someone said to video tape with phone time and date with sub under my tounge.I am so glad I'm not the only one. I'm saving this page to show my doctor. Thank you!!!
I am the cancer patient with the negative urine test for suboxone. The doctor's office took a blood draw and while it took 3 days to get the results back, the blood test exonerated me and proved I was taking the prescription the way I was supposed to.
I still got a new doctor. I will take all the copies of the tests (you are entitled to copies of the tests you submit to) and prove to the new doctor that I was completely compliant. I can't stay with the doctor who didn't trust me even though I accepted the refill. When I have been completely honest for years, it really hurt me to have to ask for additional testing. There is also the follicle (hair) test that will prove compliance but its much more expensive. You can order it online from at least one company. Ask me if you need the address.
I have stage 4 NET cancer and have been on 4mg suboxone for over 5 years. I take it at night exactly as prescribed and never miss a dose. Since January 2015, my urine tests are all negative for buprenorphine and my Dr. thinks I am selling my drugs and not taking them. This is not true!! The nurse took a blood draw yesterday and I am to return tomorrow. If it still shows negative, I'm out of the program and will have to be hospitalized to transition to another pain med. Will my blood work exonerate me?
I just had two false negatives. The suboxoneI levels were not high enough in my urine. I got kicked off my program and I was doing everything exactly right. I got a great job had a baby. And now I have the stress of finding a new Dr. Because my body must metabolize the drug different then most people. I used to have false negatives at the methadone clinic. I dosed in front of the nurse their so they trusted me. I wish I knew what causes the levels to be off in my body.
I just today, had the exact same thing happen to me! I've been taking it for over yrs. Now,(2 yrs.clean),and he threatened me also! I don't know what to do!
Went to my suboxone doctor and have never failed before the whole time I have been going to the clinic and the nurse was not there that day and the receptionist came to take my weight and blood pressure, when they go to get the drug test for suboxone patients they usually get the test out of the drawer in the room and hand it to you instead she says your test is in the hallway on the counter and please note he is a dr who gives pain meds as well but it took him two hours to come into the room before my urine was checked and he looked at it and said I tested positive for oxycodone which is not even possible I haven't touched a pill in 2 years! He looked at it twice and finally said if it happens again I will have to let you go! The question is with the receptionist taking the place of the nurse could she have giving me a test that they give the ones who get prescribed pain meds do they get a completely different test then the suboxone patients? Is the test for patients on suboxone a different test than the test they give the pain management patients and if so is that why it should up positive for oxycodone? I'm so confused and this has been on my mind! Thanks
Hi. I've been on suboxone for 2 years at a high dose and recently had the same thing happen to me. I had switched from the strips to the tabs not sure if that had anything to do with the drug having a shorter half-life since its suspended in a different type of binding matrix. They switched me from suboxone to subutex now since it happened so they can check my levels tomorrow and they mentioned something about wanting to run liver tests. Hoping the problem resolves itself, as I had to miss a day of work at a new job after having stomach problems I think as an adverse reaction to stopping the naloxone in suboxone, which they say is not supposed to have any effect. I feel fine now.

Re: Kim (# 10)
I just had a similar situation happen today and I did a search to see if I was alone here. I have been on steady dose of 4mg of Suboxone for two years - came down from 24mg. I have never missed a doc appt, given a hot urine or even asked for an early refill. Today my doctor says my urine did NOT show Suboxone, and so I am discharged from the program. No discussion. Nothing. Just goodbye and too bad. I am completely terrified. This drug saved my life. I was able to regain control of my life, finish a Masters Degree and began teaching part time at a local college. Now, I have 24 hours of my meds left until I'm totally empty. I don't understand what they expect me to do.

Same thing happened to me today. My Dr said if he sees it again he is taking my subs. I even make sure I take one before I go to the Dr but they said my test is coming up negative for bup. Now I'm afraid I'm gonna have another false negative.
I have never used but my wife has and she's been taking her Suboxone like she was told to and she had to pee in a cup and the test said she was negative for the Suboxone but I've seen her every day take these orange looking strip. She got kicked out of the program and the hard part about this is she needs more treatment to stay clean. I hope this gets fixed because I can't see her go through this again. For 12 year's it been a rollercoaster for her and I and we can't go through this again.
i dont no i lost my dr because he said my salivia lab test didnt have mine in them i dont get it i dont no whats goin on the the dr office test was positive
