Effectivity Of Nordette Contraceptive (Page 27) (Top voted first)
UpdatedHi, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I went to my OB last week and she told me that I was ovulating. And then my boyfriend accidentally ejaculated inside of me. After 20hrs I took the first 4 pills, and took the next 4 an hour late (because I fell asleep). Help me please? Is there a possibility I could get pregnant? Please, I'm really scared.
Re: calendargirl (# 519)
No intake of nordette and no deed since august. Those were my first and last. I took pt earlier amd it's negative. Hmm
Any thoughts?
Hi, id like to ask what are my chances of pregnancy.
Aug13 had a miscarriage(thus ovulation not known)
Sep3 11pm had sex with hubby (withdrawal method, with condom also)
Sep 5 10am nordette 4pills /10pm nordette 4 pills again
Sep 17-19 bleeding
Oct 14-16 bleeding
Oct 30 negative PT but a day after i think I can see a shadow line? Is it evap line? Is it possble to get pregnant wherein I had my period for 2mos and using 3 contraception? Or is it just an evap line caused by drying pee.
Thank yoy
Re: kitty (# 520)
I guess it is more of hormonal change. Any other symptoms you have? Visit your ob if after 2 -3 weeks of no mens. Just to be sure for other conditions.
Re: Lala (# 521)
Hi. If you had your bleed 2nd week of october and nega pt after 2 weeks (assuming no unprotected deed), but you had a slight line seen on your test, chances of pregnancy might be nil. The lines are or maybe due to your miscarriage. After miscarriage, hcg or the hormones preseng in pregnancy continue to stay on your body until it disappears slowly. The lines may be detecting some hcg levels present in your body now and this is due to your miscarriage history. But this will disappear on due time. I think contraception with 2 periods coming, pregnancy would not really be considered that is if no deed after the bleed 2nd week of october.
Re: kitty (# 520)
Dont take pt anymore because i think theres no need. Dont stress yourself too much because one of the reason of irregular menses is stress. So relax a bit. But remember if the absence of mens is taking quite long, you should visit your ob for further evaluation.
Re: calendargirl (# 523)
Hello dear, yes the only deed was Sep3. U think thet Sep 17 and Oct 14 is already my mens dates? Im just confused bcos my PT shows negative then after while (1 1/2hr and the other one is after a day) when it dries I think I am seeing shadow lines.
But withdrawal and condom is safe ryt, together with nordette?
Thanks again dear
Re: Lala (# 525)
Hi. Assuming that you had your nordette and you had bleeding monthly, we can consider them as your cycle already. We should remember that nordette or any ecp are emergency pills and they are not what others claimed as abortive. Once a pregnancy is established, nordette will not stop it. Nordette acts only to prevent it from ocurring so it makes the environment for implantation not suitable so no implantation can occur. Anyway, as ive mentioned, your blurred lines may be remnants of some hcg when you got preg and miscarried thats why it may be showing on those lines. Withdrawal has a safety zone but there are always risk. Some opt for regular ocp, that way the menstrual cycles are regulated and sexual activity could be well experienced. Your ob would know which ocp is best.
Re: calendargirl (# 526)
Hi dear, thank you so much for your time and the info you shared, my period is yet to come this weekend till next wik. Hopefully. :)
Hi Calendar Girl!
I had unprotected sex on November 7th at 4pm. I tried to look for Nordette after (I've used it before and it was really effective) but I found out it's been phased out and the only thing available was Lady Pills.
I took 4 pills on November 8th at 9:45am, and the other 4 at 9:45pm. I think I've been freaking out so much, doubting its effectiveness since it was just 48 pesos a pack and I only felt dizzy, not nauseous really, didn't vomit either. I took 4 more on November 9th at 9am and another 4 at 10pm. Did I just make things worse for myself?
I'm too young and I don't want to get pregnant at all, it was a dumb mistake really. Now my lower stomach feels a little pain (3/10) and my back hurts too. My mouth feels a bit dry as well. I only feel occasionally dizzy. No more bleeding yet. Is it possible that these are early signs of pregnancy or am I just paranoid?
When would be the best time to take a Pregnancy Test? Is Lady Pill really effective? Also, if this helps, my last period begun on Oct 18th and ended October 23rd.
Please help me.
Re: Pineapplekins (# 528)
hi. lady pills and nordette pills have the same component of hormones. i think the price difference is because of the company's name. taking double doses of the recommended dosage for ecp would not help to further enhance the effectivity. your first dose taken is enough already. the symptoms you are not experiencing is an effect of the hormones ( lady pills) which you took. since you retook it, you can expect your next cycle to have some delays or irregularities. it will however go back to normal state in 3 cycles approx.
right now you do not have to think of other situations like being pregnant. wait for the withdrawal bleed to occur, some might have up to 15 days of waiting time.
preg test can be done 2 weeks after the 15 days which we are expecting the bleed. in your case, since you took the pills on the right time, then we wait for the bleeding. stress will cause delays so relax and wait. stay positive because you took the dosage on the right time. the price range between the 2 brands do not matter, nordette and lady pills have the same dosage of hormones.
Re: calendargirl (# 529)
Hi Calendar Girl!
Thanks for your response. You’re being my lifesaver right now.
So it’s been a week since I took Lady Pills as an ECP (and 8 days since my unprotected intercourse) and I’ve noticed I’ve got brown discharge. It does look like blood, but darker and really there’s very little compared to my normal flow. Is this normal?
According to my menstrual app, I’m actually due for my period today too.
What could these things mean?
I’ve tried not to stress so much on these things but I can’t help it.
Thanks really!
Re: Pineapplekins (# 530)
Hi. In reality our mens app will no longer be as reliable as when we are not taking any hormones, in your case, the lady pills. Since in ecp context, you are giving yourself a big dose of hormones. So more often than not, it wouldnt be as reliable as when not taking it. But sometimes it coincides and thats a good thing since you can track the cycle.
Your symptoms would herald the side effects of the lady pills. Sometimes It would be as red too but dont worry those are the effects of the lady pills. Irregularity would occur but would normalize after few cycles.
Re: calendargirl (# 531)
Thanks a lot for these information!
I was worried that the discharge could be a possible sign of (already) implantation which could happen within 10-14 days of intercourse - I read somewhere.
Just so scared of being pregnant. Do you think that’s a big possibility for me?
Hoping I get my period soon!
Re: Pineapplekins (# 532)
if you did not took the pill, we would veer towards non-hormonal issues. but since you took it, we shall wait for the side effects first.
Re: calendargirl (# 533)
Hi!
I had my period yesterday (Nov 16 at around 4pm!) it’s bright red and pretty heavy. Could this be the withdrawal bleeding?
Thanks so much for your time and patience and efforts in helping me through this!
Re: Pineapplekins (# 534)
Yes. Its the withdrawal bleeding or in other words, the side effect of the hormone you took. You can start to count this as your first day although many experienced irregularities of their cycle after the pill intake but some do not. HOpefully yours is otherwise on the regular side.
Re: calendargirl (# 535)
Okay, thank you very much!
Do you think I should still take a pregnancy test? And if I do, when would be the best time?
Re: calendargirl (# 504)
I was on my period (fertile days) when we had unprotected intercourse, so i took trust pills instead of nordette. 4 hrs after the 2nd dose i vomited. Ok lang po ba un?
Re: Jess (# 537)
Hi! You mentioned you were on your period when you deed but you still took ecp? Anyway, about the vomiting after your second dose, i read in lits that absorption takes place within 2 hours so if youre on your 4th hour after you took the dose, no need to retake.
Re: calendargirl (# 538)
I mean i was on my fertile day according to my mens app. I think 1 day before my ovulation. Do you think ecp will be effective ?
